I have 9-5 2.3t 2000. when i open tail gate door its coming down. wont stay open. whats is the best solution for fixing it? i dont want to take it to mechanic. i pretty good at fixing cars. please help me
one thing you WILL need is a strong person who can push UP while you put the struts back in place on their mounts. You can do most of the job by yourself. Be very careful when pulling the headliner down not to crease it..
Probably just one of your lift gate struts is bad, so technically you would only need to replace one of them to get the lift gate to work properly, but like Charlie said, it would be smart to buy two of them to avoid having to replace the other one in a another day, week or month or whenever it decides to go out. I used a broom handle with a squeege attached to each end to prop open my lift gate while I installed the new struts, it worked perfectly.
and one more thing, where can i buy tail gate door lock assemble ?
cause on dash board it always shows that my tail gate door is open if thou its locked. i think it electronic thing inside of the lock(at lease that what my friend mechanic told me).
thank you all!
