I bought a 99 9-3 t 18 months ago totally standard.

In the first 4 weeks i got hold of a viggen body kit, then a month later a Viggen interior came up, the the bug bit, i went for 25% tints and upgraded the wheels.
I then managed to get a 2nd hand backbox for £40 which was mint and this is the car now.

Thursday its going to be lowered by 35mm and im upgrading the stereo

What do you think and what should i do next, i need to keep it sensible as this is the family car my other car is a rear wheel drive animal which is for weekends, and that runs 450bhp

I just really want to give my normal "eh its a ford" but I can't do that to this car. Very nice.

Nice SAAB mate, But wow to the cossie :cheesy:! Sweet as, gettin rare too.

Power oversteer anyone? Ferrari bashing? Thats the boy for the job:cool:
Technically its a Ford Sapphire Cosworth, Sierra Cosworth being the previous 3dr incarnation. But both models and the subsequent 4x4 model and then the escort cosworth 4x4 were truly the 1st poor mans supercars! Where do you reckon subaru and mitsubishi got their inspiration from? (Audi quattro's where expensive!)

Many Thanks on the cossie.

AS above i have upset a few porsche drivers over the past few months, it runs rear wheel drive.

Spec is

2.0 Cosworth YB running 7.8:1 compression
T38 running 2 Bar
Straight Cut Box with bif tooth kit (good for 600bhp)
Ap 6 Paddle clutch
Quaife Diff
60mm Core FMIC / Group A Breather system
Running siemens Blacks 1000cc injectors
Will also be running anti lag and lauch control.

wheels are Group A 8.0 by 18s running 225/35/18
Coilovers
front brakes 335x32 disks with 4 Pot Brembos
Rear 300 mm Vented

Dont know what the 0-60 or standing qtrs YET.

The sabb on the other hand, bless it

Runs about 160ish horse power i suppose with a boost controlller on a T5 engine at about 14psi, Suspension kit being fitted today now.
And the rest you know more than me, i paid £400 for the whole interior which was expensive but came with carpet, door cards, dash and seats.
The body kit and wheels were £850 £350 for wheels and tyres and £500 for the viggen front and rear bumper, side skirts and viggen back box.
Fitted it all myself and painted it all, only other mods are grill.

It's re-assuring to know I can at least out-brake it  .

The rwd Sapphire is a most entertaining motorcar  I have driven a one in stock trim and that was hairy enough.

Good job on building that car from the ground up. Much respect for that.

As far as your original question (what do do with your saab)

I'd say:
-interior (stereo, etc.)/exterior (paint, etc) - you've done this
-springs/shocks/wheels/tires - looks like you've done that
-6-pt subframe/arb/steering rack (these together really make a difference)
-bigger brakes (up to you how big you wanna go, but if you increase power, you're gonna need them)
-ECU/DP/Exhaust/Intercooler (preferably all at the same time)

Then you'd have a reasonably fast little Saab that doesn't handle like a boat.

For the crazy Ford rebuilder in you, who knows, throw my recommendations out the window and build an AWD 9-3 - bi-turboed like those Audi quattros!
