I have a few other questions about the charging system in the 9-5. I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the factory battery connectors with after market ones meant for larger wire gauges? Any info on that would be amazing! oh, and, in the factory posts, could I drill though the negative terminal connection to add two 1/0 gauge wires onto it?

    Jay,
I need to find an economical headlight replacement. The 9-5 Aero I have requires the HID bulb. Dealer quote is over $350! Cheapest I found so far is at NAPA for over $100 for a headlight! They have to order from out of state right now. Any thoughts?

    Jay,

Looks like I need a new headlight for my 9-5 Aero. Prices seem to range from $9 to $700+. Any ideas?

Yes definitely hoping for warmer weather. Almost have that 9-5 in my garage back together... only need to fit the sub-frame then fire her up.

    Hey Jay,
Thanks for making your home available to us. It was a great time to celebrate Saab-Spyker. Hopefully we can get some other events going in the future, possibly with warmer weather.

Jay: Don't let Zack leave without the headlight caps, if you have them. I just dumped the ATF today....pretty dark. Loosened 2 of the exhaust nuts, but the front ones are HARD to get at, and very very rusted.

    Have a good weekend!

Zack sent me the thread on the BPC valve, pulling the top hose and plugging same. I wonder if that will also help my 9-3. I posted a question in the 9-3 section to see if anyone knows. In that thread, everyone was suggesting cleaning out the BPCV with carb cleaner. Will fix all ills with Saabs, short of leaking ATF ;-)

I looked at the cooling line banjo bolts....no real satisfaction. I removed the splash guard on the pass. side...the one that goes up into the fender well. There's "oil" all over that side of the engine....the oil pan's soaked.....I'm thinking more it's an oil leak around the pan. It was getting cold and dark, so I gave up. Another day, I guess. I'm thinking more & more that the oil pan needs to be dropped and de-gunked. Not a pleasant thought, mind you. Fluid level's fine in the ATF. The oil dipstick is just onto the dipstick cable, top of the plastic bugger.

Thanks for the puller pic. The windshield shop fixed the angle on the worst of the wipers....driver side still high. The windshield was under $250! I was expecting much more.

Jay: Where did you get your cargo mat for the wagon? I bought one on eBay, not even close! Saab USA Parts has one for $81 and change. That's about the cheapest I've found. Oh, I posted a question about the ATF leak....suggestion was the transmission cooling line leaking?! I'll check it out.
