The code indicates a gas cap or vacuum issue. I think the problem may have occured when I had the fuel pump replaced. I think the mechanic loused up one of the vent hoses coming out of the gas tank. I've taken to resetting the engine control fuse each time I gas up just to get that darned light to turn off. But it comes back on after 150 miles. I've searched and seen a couple of things saying that we should use the Saab thermostat rather than a typical aftermarket unit.

This is NOT a cost thing, I'm just not going to be able to get a Saab thermostat until Monday morning, but I can get an aftermarket one tonight or tomorrow morning.

Last week I couldn't really even get one in. Tried 2 different kinds, ended up trying some rubber flex hose with a magnet embedded on the end (I couldn't get my straight magnet wand in nor my 1.5" magnet on a jointed wand). Even the makeshift tube-magnet thing couldn't get into the trans more than an inch, it seems to hit something in there.

So other than some crisco like metallic-grease-paste, I ddn't find any metal. I took the car to another Saab deal and they told me the noise is not abnormal and will not hurt anything. There is a TSB for this problem I think these... I think these dealers are not fixing the problem because they don't want to lose their dealership during this time of Saab dowwn sizing. Why would there be a TSB if it's not a problem. There is no way I would have bought this SUV if I heard that noise and now I wonder if I could sell it.
