do you need the flex pipe? its one of the options. im not getting a tip (want it to look pretty stock) but i do want to make sure i get all the right options. what does the new flex pipe do for me?
you dont need the flex pipe unless your going 3in turbo back, if your just getting a 2.5in catback then your stock flexpipe is fine if its in good condition and the flex pipe isnt worn.
ive done a few obscure little jigs and now i have to go on about my day !! WOOT (it took everything in my power not to buy the BOV or CAI..gonna save for a few weeks and get both at the same time
While installing your new exhaust, make sure you inspect the flex-pipe. Those are usually the first to rust. My flex-pipe only made it to 75k. My exhaust made it to about 84k or so. Its all stainless steel saab sport now...well except the down pipe.
meh, your probably fine. Just check everything for rust while you under the car. Around here, they use tons of salt during the winter, so thats probably why my exhaust didn't last too long.
A simple look will be able to show you, but you can always get a flex piece off ebay and a straight SS pipe and any exaust shop would be able to make you one or if you can do it, its pretty cheap.
