I'm new to the forum and to SAABs as well. Got my 1984 99GL in november with 160k on the tap, enjoyed it for a while (previous owner was running it with disintegrated radiator) engine died shortly after, it was amazing how it was running at all, everything was warped and cracked etc.
Anyway the body was very very good and thats why I decided to keep it - and now I'm converted SAABer. Currently I'm performing a total mechanical overhaul. Engine is going in the bin and 80k 900 engine properly converted back to carb and extensively rebuilt is going in instead. So while I'm doing all this I was thinking of adding some more BHP to it.
Since its a single carb - first thing I was suggested was twin carb conversion. Still not enough for me. Then I found this picture of a 16v rally EMS engine. WoW!!! Anyone knows what kind of Webbers are they? Is it possible to get them? Any suggestions where? Anyone ever done anything like that before?
