Hey guys, I'm sure you've all been asked the following questions a ton of times but every new guy and every topic beaten to death about what works best but hey.....this is easier than me going through hundreds of posts.
Ok Numero Uno - The BPV, I want to install the cool sounding atmospheric valve but it makes sense to route the high pressure air back to the suction side of the compressor, seems to me it would make higher pressures faster the higher the pressure is on the suction side of the compressor. Also, the little sensor just downstream from the BPV, is that Mass Air Flow, or a pressure sensor. Has anyone used the BOV and can share his results?
Long one I know.....its almost over.
Deuce - Ok so I just bought the car, its a 2001 93 turbo with the 2.0 L. But the problem is there is a little play in the front end, has anyone else had this happen over time and what can I do about it? I'd like to have the tight steering feel back.
Ok thats it for now, this is an advance thanks for any input.
BTW - I'm Tim, from Canada and I cant find anything for my car anywhere.
Sorry, no BOV for you. You have a T-7 engine management system and if you do add a BOV, you will throw the check engine light and your car wont run right. If you want a loud blow off, do the airbox mod and get a nice diverter valve.
And if youre looking into a piston-style bpv then dont hesitate to look for a used one (metal and oil are the only 2 things in there...) they are a good bit cheaper. Check these classifieds and the ones on vwvortex.com (they call em diverter valves)
Thats funny, I have an uncle in Windsor Ontario who might just be able to return fire so be careful my american friend. DIY, next time someone asks how your love life is, just tell them your "holding my own" for the true Do It Yourselfer
Not the same grille Chris :cheesy: The Draken will be done as soon as the weather warms up a bit but I already started doing some stuff. The weather is too crappy for April still. Snow at this time still? HOLLY SH**
the DIY grille is in progress, pics as soon as I finish it......had to rape the mesh from a furnace filter but its sweet, and I raised it for a closer look. Gonna be cool.

You could just buy a gutter guard from Home Depot or Builder Box for $3.50 for that.
Do the clear corner mod as well and the smoked side signals. PM me if you need instructions or anything like that :cheesy:
It appears that my corner markers are already smoked. And my corner lights up front are chipped and cracked so I'm gonna have to buy new ones......but Im open to doing it myself. So, pics, before during and after, also note the blacked headlight housing. And I did all this without the use of a dremel!
Nice job on that grille. I love red SAABs :cheesy: The grille looks amaizing my friend
I got 2 extra front lights one of them is brand new still in the box just in case mine break.
What's wrong with your lenses? Those can look amaizing if not too damaged. you can tint them and they will look like new after that :cheesy:
Hey do you still have the SAAB letters on the wing you cut off the grille? :cheesy:
which lenses? the corner lights are cracked and chipped, and the headlight lenses are just pitted from the alberta roads lol and the side markers are tinted haha
