What is it behind the Saab? Looks porschesqe. Oh they're Boxters :)
What's the reason behind halting Finnish production? Has capacity been increased elsewhere, or has sales dropped?
It says in the report...
"The Finns themselves designed the first convertible Saabs, but an Austrian factory won the bid for the continuation of the production."
Simon.
wow.... nice to know that my car may have been assembled on the same line as porsche models....

No, it's not a Viggen. Last year for them was 2002. 2003 Convertibles look like the Viggen b/c they have 17 inch rims and the Viggen's body kit as well as the Viggen seats. Not the 230hp engine though.
All 9-3 Convertibles were made in Finland on the same production line at Porsche Boxters.
Cheers.
Are you sure? I had a convertible a s aloaner that was supposed to be a Viggen ( accoridng to my insurance company).

Did you notice the date of that release? It's October 1999.
Here's a breakdown on Viggen production from '99-02:
1999 - 3-door Blue coupes ONLY
2000 - 3-doors, 5-doors and convertibles (blue, silver, black, red, yellow etc.)
2001 - same body styles as 2000 but only 3 colors (steel grey, red, black)
2002 - sames body styles as previous 2 years, but a few more color offerings.
2003 - NO more Viggens.

Hi,
I´ve got a BLACK Viggen CONVERTIBLE built in 1999 with Flame Ocre (=orange) seats.
Anyone knows how many were built? I read 50 somewhere?!
Yours,
Philip
This means the end of the Combi Coupe 9-3 as well?
That plant in Finnland was a special contract builder. They only made 3 cars; the Viggen, the convertables, and the Viggen convertables.
