The weird thing is.... this happend to me too! Not sure what the case is, I might just replace the seat all together since I have an extra 9k laying around.
Well I would say go around your local junk yards and if your lucky enough to find a 9k then you can take the seat apart (or take the whole seat if its in good condition) but I would say just try following the cable, see where it connects. Try going from there.
just take out your seat and look at it and youll probably have better luck figuring it out...from what i understand(though i havent done this yet) its not held down by much at all and very easy to take right out
