On a SAAB 9000 Aero 97, how often should you replace the O2 sensor
Is there a "better" sensor than original - ref: performance
Are after market sensors as good as original
Has anyone noticed a performance change after replacing the sensor & if so, in what way
Or is it "if it ain,t broke"
cheers
Turns out some 9000 2.3T have three wire & some have 4wire. if you have a four wire
black is signal feed to ECU
2 x white are the heater element
grey is signal earth via ECU
The sensor is a Zirconia type & universal is as good as Bosch spec one
I believe the lambda only effects the ECU A/F ratio mapping a idle / low rpm
If your UK based then http://www.lambdasensor.com/
Not yet Kevin, I,ll change it once I stop fiddlin & get some consistant running figures. ( at the present rate that,ll be around June then!)
After speaking to the guy at http://www.lambdasensor.com/ sign,s of wear are
erratic idle, or low speed running
General drop in fuel economy
Which leads me to another question, should there be one or two sensors ( my mitchell manual shows two of them)
This is from an old post of mine: - Helptoday were cheaper than anyone else.
(1996 9kAero)
"Just bought the 4 wire 0 258 986 601 Bosch Lambda from Helptoday on (01522 501001) - £57 inc. vat and postage. At this price its just not worth messing about with non-bosch ones. It's for my '96 9k Aero
This is the proper part and seems to match all the part number info. here and on the justlambda site (who charge £81 for the same)"
