how do I change the cabin air filter..is there one? when i turn on the heat i get this smell sometime like, well like wet hay guess
happened years ago and i cycled some ozium through the system and that got rid of it for a LONG time but its back and wanna know how to change the filter or just do the ozium and oust again
It's pretty simple if its the filter I just found before. Mines filthy.
For a '91 9000 2.3 lpt it heres how:
pop the hood, undo the bolts holding the top of the aquarium (the false bulkhead at the firewall) and unhook the rubber hose for the wiper fluid. Lift up and out for the aquarium cover, and take it off.
Now you should see a big black cylinder on the drivers side (for me anyhow, right hand drive car), on the top of that will be one screw holding a panel on. Unscrew that - voila the filter!
switch/clean whatever and when you replace the panel there should be a little bit for the end without a screw to hook under. Sorted dont forget to reattach the wiper hoses!
You don't need to buy a Saab element for it. I bought a good quality, high HEPA, central AC filter and cut it to fit the frame of the Saab filter. Better filtration than original and you can get 2+ filters per panel. Cheap!
no its not the heater core...i know the sweet smeel of antifreeze..bars leak actually took care of that particular saab problem a long time ago...ill change the filter this week thanks for the input guys
