: normally asp. to turbo conversion on a 91

Is it realistic to consider a turbo conversion if I have a same year turbo donor car? I would either have the turbo rebuilt or replaced, but if I had access to the other donor parts required, is this a stupid idea? Would there be just too many parts to change?

I just got my car and coincidently found a donor car that I might buy for it's wheels, (I think the turbo came with 16's. They are the aero looking ones) spoiler, floor mats, and leather interior. Then in the future, I'll have a parts car which incidently is the same exterior/interior color as mine.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I too have been toying around with this idea but it looks like a terribly involved job. Not only do you have to replace the exhaust, intake, oil lines, ecu, etc. you would also have to lower the compression ratio if you wanted to run any kind of boost over I think 6-7psi. I suppose you could get different pistons to do that job, but it would probably still be a very long and expensive task

I plan to firm-up the suspension a bit, bigger wheels and tyres, big brakes, intake, exhaust, a rising rate FPR, and a fuel management remap. These are all relatively easy mods and will hopefully somewhat satisfy my need for speed until I can do a new head and cams :D
