Can the Dawes MBC be installed on a 2001 9-3?
I'm thinking about getting it and was wondering if it could be used on this vehicle.
BTW, I have the 205 hp engine.

I think the MBC only works on cars up through 1999.

Any reason why it only works on these years?

I dont know whether it has something to do with the diffs b/w Trionic5 and 7. Personally I dont see how it should make a difference- the MBC ( I use Turbosmart as Im in Australia) 'fools the wastegate acentuator into thinking its seeing less boost than your actually making ( ie the MBC bleeds off some of the boost it shows the accentuator).The only problem is with MAP -run cars like the ng 900-> when the manifold pressure hits ~15-> doesnt like it-> fuel cut-> the way around it is reprogrammed ecu.
Even if your car is MAS- run , a MBC should be ok.The main problem with these cars is when you replace blow-off valve, you need plumb-back ones rather than venting ones- anyway thats another issue.If your car is 205Hp I'd suspect its already running at least 12lb in standard form
just my 2c

Why do you need plumb-back ones? Couldn't you just cap off the opening?

Anyone else have any ideas about whether this Dawes Device will work on a 205hp 2001 9-3?
All help is appreciated. :)

to address the bov Q, the MAP or MAF will sense there is no return pressure when off the throttle, causing the ecu to trip and give incorrect timing/fuel maps. i tired it just to have fun and the car bogged and died, resulting in a couple misfires :nono;
as for the mbc, it should work..fuel mixture may not be perfect, but it should work...ill be running one soon and ill let you guys know
I have a Dawes MBC for sale if you are interested. It works great on my 99 9-3.
