Look what I've just got for my 90! :cheesy:

It's not that I didn't like the plastic wheeltrims you understand...

Where did you get them...?

Mark P

From someone on Saab Central! :cheesy:

He's even cleaned 'em ready for me to fit at the Kodak.

A top lad! :cheesy:

Should look good on the 90. I wouldn't mind some soccer wheels for mine but I guess the minilites look Ok so it would be a bit of a waste of money! :)

Yeah, they were in the boot - bargain! Shame they'd been in there three years causing the rear shocks to be knackered though

I would buy a set of minilites from anyone willing to sell...

Need 'em for winter tires.

Mine are a bit like these. But older...

Actually, here's a picture of mine. According to the 'range' brochure I just scanned this picture from, they appear standard fare for Turbo 900s in 1982. Interesting, cos they came of a 1982 turbo 900. :cheesy:

I'm still jealous of the Incas though.

Don;t you need special tyres with those rims :-??

They were originally fitted with Michelin TRX tyres and like Dunlop denovos their measurements were in metric :o

Gimme minilites or US or 9000 turbo alloys anyday

Ah, here's a much better picture I found in a different brochure. Yes, it looks like you do need TRX tyres. C***-flaps.

Well, the tyres are in good nick now, and if I can find a trye that'll fit them in future,. they'll be a truly rare sight, I guess! :cheesy:

Uh oh! How much did you pay for them Tone? At least you could make them into a coffee table or something

Tone... does that mean that they're useless then? :o

Oooops!

When I had TRXs on my 900 8vT there were only 2 makes of tyre that were suitable. I seem to remember that the tyres were 180mm wide!

It's nigh on impossible to find metric size tyres to fit TRX wheels these days and if you can they cost big bucks!!

I had a 1982 900T8 a while ago with TRX wheels and two new and two nearly new tyres on them and I couldn't give them away. They ended up going to the scrapyard with the car.

The tread pattern on the tyres look well ropey as well, you wouldn't want to go at any speed around bends with those on!

Sorry Tone but it looks like you have been done mate!

Simon.

I saw some of these advertised recently as "the ones you can't get tyres for" not the best selling point for a set of wheels.

Same old Tone eh...? :cheesy:

Sorry to have pi55ed on your bonfire Tone :o ,
better put an ad out now for some tyres - that way by the time youve worn the existing ones out you should hopefully have a new set.
Dont forget to get a loan from the bank though :cheesy:

Pete.

Pah! I'll play with these ones for a bit at least. They were VERY cheap, and I got 6 of them, which is fine to be getting on with! :cheesy:

Remember what everyone said when I said I was looking for a 90? Me? Downhearted? Never! :cheesy:

with good tyres? 8)

Simon
26th March 2003, 05:35 PM
If the car is still in the same scrapyard which is just around the corner from Kodak then yes with good tyres.

Simon.

Tone_Depear
26th March 2003, 05:47 PM
...yes with good tyres.

So not TRX one's then! :o

Simon
26th March 2003, 07:15 PM
The car I'm talking about is an 82' 900T8 I had about 18 months ago, which had TRX wheels on it with two brand new and two nearly new tyres...

Simon.

Look on the bright side Tone - if you're swanning around with those wheels and tyres on, everyone in Sheffield will assume you're super-rich
