I just retired my doggy to the country life as he was too lonely with me. (And this is not a euphemism for anything!)
Kind of sad, even thought he was mostly a big needy jerk.
That Iguana looks as though its about to light up a ciggy!
Such a cool expression on his face 8)
Dave
ragtopcav 14-03-03, 03:57 PM I'm up for stuffing on some shots of my endless pile of cats if I could figure out how to reduce the image apparently they're to big
CleveSaab 14-03-03, 03:58 PM Http://www.irfanview.com
Do you not have a re-size option when you view your images on your pc? Scan your tool bar and drop downs.
Just make sure they are not more than 500 pixels wide and 350 high.

Tone_Depear 15-03-03, 06:23 AM Cheers mate. I was hoping someone might notice. :cheesy: I've had it going on 10 years. Lovely, so it is, so it is. Fortunately for everyone concerned, I cut off the bottom of the picture, where my legs are showing... :o
Rob Hill 16-03-03, 04:39 PM I've tried to keep thing on topic by presenting my cat "Foden" in a Saab context!
For those of you outside the UK, Foden was a British truck manufacturer. Maybe I should have called him Scania?
Rob
Rob Hill 16-03-03, 04:41 PM ...and another pic!
Halcyon 16-03-03, 04:44 PM Foden; based in Sandbach, Cheshire. Also based in Sandbach is the truck company E.R.F. which was started after an argument between the two Foden brothers as to who could build the better truck. E.R.F being the initials of the other Foden brother.
I thank youee :o
ragtopcav 16-03-03, 07:05 PM If I've done correctly this Tilly being helpful when I was fitting my new Kitcen last spring. Note big barbeques in the background.

Drew_au 19-03-03, 03:34 AM Pets, a subject dear to my heart.
Did anyone see my post on the 900 Workshop about my Border Collie? When I first bought my SAAB home (three weeks ago)and left it in our back yard I awoke the next morning to find muddy footprints on the bonnet. She decided to exert her authority over Dad's new toy by doing a dance on the bonnet (scratching it in the process)! :o Friggin' dog! :-? She's lucky I love her - she might end up as seat covers otherwise. (just kidding)
As for pets, we currently have:
Border Collie, Liebling (Libby for short)
Border Collie cross Retreiver, Tobby. I've had Tobby since I was 12 years old (16 years ago!), no joke. He's a slow old thing now. He's great.
Saffron the Budgie. Named after Julia Sawahla's character in AbFab. 8)
Three clown loaches (tropical fish) called Merry, Pippin and Harry.
My brother-in-law has a Carpet Python called Sotek. He's cool.
Over the years we have had frogs and guinea pigs also!
Pets are great, what a top idea for a thread! I'll post some pictures later.
Cheers all,
Andrew.
ragtopcav 19-03-03, 06:42 PM Strewth, Drew au, you don't live in a house, that's got to be a zoo mate.
CleveSaab 19-03-03, 07:02 PM ...and another pic!
and more paw prints on the bonnet.. I mean hood. LOL
ragtopcav 19-03-03, 07:08 PM He has my sympathy, I'll try and catch my Maine Coon 'Gnasher' [a cat] on the bonnet [hood] of my Saab with a camera, then I'll follow that with a firm but not excessive kick up his butt!
Ragtop,
Do you really have a Maine Coon...??
ragtopcav 19-03-03, 07:23 PM Yeah, really it's a breed of cat, he's a black fluffy thing who p1sses up anything that remains still in his turf for more than 2 minutes.
Tone_Depear 20-03-03, 01:31 AM *Tone stifles every non-pc joke he has in him*
*Tone stifles every non-pc joke he has in him*

SaabScott 13-04-03, 09:16 PM Here are my 2 cats:
The one looking at you is Soda (my 5 year old named him ... just over 2 years ago) and the sleeping one in T.J. (also named by the same kids ... but he belongs to my 11 year old). They are both great cats, but not the types to ride around in the car ... the kitten howls non-stop ...[/img]
SaabScott 13-04-03, 09:18 PM Sorry ... I guess he picture is too big ...I'll see if I can shrink it ...
SaabScott 13-04-03, 09:38 PM Let's try this again:

CleveSaab 22-04-03, 12:50 PM OMG!! LOL That dog looks like he is SINCERELY enjoying the snow!
Probably wonders where it went now, eh?
:D
Logan may miss the snow, but I certainly don't!!! It was fun at first, but after the 5th storm or so I got tired of shoveling. Plus my school district almost ran out of snow days which would have cut into the lovely spring break I'm enjoying now...
ragtopcav 22-04-03, 07:00 PM Here's some more of the gang, note I caught 'Gnasher' the Maine Coon atop the bonnet of the 900 to keep within a Saab theme
My 2 boys:
Nibbler, a Border Collie mix, and Reese, a Chocolate Lab.

ne21acr 06-06-03, 09:56 PM Here's my German Shorthaired Pointer Otto Von Birdmarck after digging in the mud. No Otto, use it to point, not dig. He's a pup!
We also have a Beagle running around someplace.
First pic post. Hope it works.
Rob Sandey 06-06-03, 11:43 PM Very cool dog. My dog growing up was a German Pointer, mine was a black female (the software won't let me say *****). I was bought 'Thistle' as a gift when I was 5 and she lived until I was 26. Great dog, thanks you have brought back some good memories.
Cheers Rob
CleveSaab 07-06-03, 01:32 AM 21 years old, Rob?!?

Yeah she was very long lived, she didn't really get old and decrept until her last year. We probably kept her to long but she was part of the family big time.
Here's my two - Fox & Dana of the FBI (Feline Bureau of Investigation)
This my cat named 'Kitty' She doesn't like having her picture taken.
escalator guru 27-07-03, 03:10 PM this is my dog. he may look like a lab but he's half german shephard (his mom was purebred. looked like rin tin tin). best dog in the whole entire world. (he needs a lot of ego stroking.)
Areomyst 27-07-03, 03:19 PM The infamous Runaway Turtle, Levi. He ran away from home a few months ago. I had him for somewhere around 10 years. I sorta lost count. Found him in a pond when he was the size fo a quarter. When last spotted, he was a bit larger than a comptuer mouse.
I'd put a picture of my cat too, but he's a bad poser. I have more pet pictures on my website! :D I am petless now though, except for the kitty, which is well enough. :-?

BurnsSide42 27-07-03, 08:43 PM This is Fudge! She is, i think 3 years old, a mix between a German Shepard and a Golden Retriever. She's supposed to be a Medium dog, due to the two breeds crossing one another out size wise, but she weighs about 70lbs!!!! she is now on a diet ;)

funny story about the cat. when he was a kitten he'd get up on his back legs and attempt to beat the snot out of the dog. one day the dog swatted the cat away, and since tehn they've stayed away from each other.
so what the cat is really saying is, "you're lucky i'm on the other side of this glass..."
900t: Nah, my 'daughter' got my looks. ;)
Oh, I've seen you driving around! You're this guy right? http://www.carfax.com/img/dog_driving.jpg

Also, their are two cats, that get along great with the dog, but not with eachother (younger one thinks she's invincible, attacks the older one, then gets a healthy dose of reality, stops for 20 minutes, then tries again.) The younger one:

This is Dexter Bocephus Jones; got him from the SPCA at 8 weeks old and had him for over 17 years, until he finally gave up the ghost last year. I aim to get another kitty someday, but 17 years was like having a child (almost)!

Thankfully, I got rid of that horrid sofa years back.

Having a pet is no different ... except that they don't argue, talk back, yell, etc...
green-blood 30-08-04, 04:00 AM not reallya cat and dog person and I never had pets as a kid, but my wife always did and she really wanted a pet... so over last chritmas we saw some of these on TV and I said I wouldn't mind a pair...the next day Ralf and Pixie (black) were ours

ragtopcav 29-04-05, 01:02 AM Bump!!!!
So we buy a tent, common sense says put it up at your leasure in your garden so you know what goes where on camp, so we do, within minutes Luna moves in and goes for any other cat that wishes to investigate 'my tent'
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/ragtopcav/tent.jpg
So we pack it up in its bag next day and Zippie decides it makes a rather good bed [in the way only a cat can]

That's Mack, last Christmas. He got old and smelly right after, turns out he had some serious dental problems (and cancer). Vet took care of it, but he hasn't been the same since. He's still a sweetheart and an attention whore. We'll probably never have a dog again, cos we'll be disappointed when it's not as good as this guy.

I was reading an interesting article on the subject of pets being family members: http://www.turnto10.com/news/4430980/detail.html
Article states:
"
Fire Departments Get Oxygen Masks For Pets
Devices Given To Departments In 11 States
POSTED: 11:12 am EDT April 29, 2005 Associated Press
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Man's best friend has a new friend in Fairfield, Conn. -- the fire department.
Firefighters have 15 new oxygen masks designed for dogs and cats. The Best Friends Pet Resort chain donated the masks.
The company has given about 450 sets of masks so far to fire departments in 11 states.
The masks come in three sizes -- one for cats, one for small dogs and one for big dogs.
Fire Chief Richard Felner said pets are part of families and the department's job is to take care of families."
Found it to be interesting.
Zaphod Beeblebrox 30-04-05, 10:41 AM Smudge is half Norwegian Forest Cat, (we don't know who the father was!). He's been my mate ever since the day he was born in my mum's house in 1994. I also had his brother, Dudley, until he escaped from a cattery in 1997, where they stayed for a couple of days while we moved house 200 miles or so. Mum's neighbours took on the twin sisters, Kitty and Katey. Dudley was never seen again, but since he was very feral in his character, unlike Smudge, it is believed that he became a farm cat - many were in the vicinity.
