I am new to the saab scene, with the recent purchase of my saab 900SE. after owning it for a month or two, i am in the need for some more power... the parts that i am lookin to buy are a BOV, boost controller, and intake, but first i have a few questions... is there any way to increase boost pressure, or is that only done via a boost controller. and another question i have is if the stock wastegate is adjustable, and how? and are there any boost controllers, BOV's, and intakes that you would recommend? any feedback is great!

The cheapest way to get more power would be to modify your stock air box with 3" pvc pipe to under light and a K&N panel filter with a manual boost controller for about 25.00 bucks. You can then increase your boost up until you hit fuel cut at about 15psi and then back it off a little. Then you are golden with more boost, especially in first and second gear, it will spin the tires now and you have spent from 25.00-75.00 bucks or something:p

OK, what John said. The site list has sites for an intake (Genuine Saab, etc.) a BOV & mbc's. Do the mbc+a (see posts by SPATL for that, he is the guru) as that will keep spiking down and allow you to sustain your peak boost. The wastegate is adjustable to allow you to keep the base boost at its correct setting. Raising base boost beyond the optimal setting gives no real gains as the Trionic will pull the boost off when you exceed the programming defaults. Upgrading the BPV/BOV gives no hp gains but is good if you want more reliability and servicability of the valve. The stock valve is good to about 20 psi so it should hold the boost you are currently contemplating running.

ok thanks to all of you. but i am left with more questions... do you have a diagram or how-to guide on how to modify the air intake? and the boost controller as well, is there any information in how to install it, and is it acomplishable with normal tools? oh and what is the mbc+A??

Yes, go to erik's site, its on this website on the tech section then onto the performance part that states eric's performance upgrades, he gives great information and links to get parts and his experiences with them. Its right on this saab central under tech!!!

eric's site is a good resource but is far from great IMHO. he gives very vague information about what exactly he did on most things. its assumed you know what is going on and merely need a pointer or two. if you are a complete noob then i would take the site with a grain of salt and search the forum for information. it may take a bit longer, but the info here is much better.
