I have a 9000 Turbo and I'm thinking of putting a BOV. I just wanted to know if anybody has done it, and if you could recomend good ones. preferably nice and loud.

Search, or just look at the other post in the forum, I've just replied one of them. We are discussing this subject A LOT.

ohh, and by the way, think you are in the wrong forum, at this is for the c900's, and you state you have a 9000 :)

if you have a pre-94 then you may or may not get bad results from running a BOV.
a good one to try though is the Forge Motorsport one. Twin piston design makes sure then no air leaks into the intake system on idle.

Can't be frigged making them proper links, so copy and paste them into your browser adress bar. Can't garantee they help at all as I just picked a few randoms with Blow Off Valve or Dump Valve in the heading and cut and pasted the link. So ahh, yeh, maybe do a search for Dump Valve or Blow Off Valve under the 9000 Catergory. Goodluck.

what do you mean may or may not get bad results? Could it be damadging? or make the car less reliable?

some people get stalling on gear changes etc, others don't, because the AMM is measuring more air than is actually going into the engine, therefore, it over fuels for a couple of seconds.
I found on my '87 that it stalled, but i have heard of people getting no bad side effects. don't worry, it isn't damaging.;)

so I guess I could just get the Forge twin piston BOV, and see what happens. Where would be the best place to get them? I've seen sports has one, but now I cant find their site :x

and does anybody know how that one sounds? is it like the whistle, or like the hiss??

partsforsaabs.com I spose could be a goer, Forge valves are available from a host of online stores. There's about 5 major Saab online Stores that I can think of off the top of my head just now.

nice, thanx.
but I was actually wondering about that. Since I have a stock 86 9000T, im wondering if a BOV would actually make much of an audiable sound. Would it just be like a bit of air coming out, cuz I dont think theres much psi in the stock turbo anyways. Or is the sound acutally like a nice whistle or pssh or w/e?

a stock '86 9000 will be running approx 12.5 PSI... not too bad for a car that age!

Yep, I tried telling my friends who all drive Jap Imports what boost I was running originally and they didn't believe me.

Then when I started running 22psi they thought I was even more of a bu||sh|ter... until I installed my guage.

read my thread i just posted. I found that if the spring in the valve is tight enough, you don't have that problem :)
