Just bought a 9000 CDXI, was ok on test drive, have not started for a month.When driving temp gauge runs hot, stop in traffic smoke/steam from under bonnet RHS. While stopped with engine running white exhaust smoke, worse when I pull away.Heater was working yesterday, not today.??????

Can anyone help (ideas on cause and cost please) :(

I could be the thermostat, but you also mention white smoke which inducates there is water in the system which could be the head gasket and would also tie in with the overheating.
