I have a 92 9000 and the rear speakers are doing some funny things. I believe it to be the rear amp being shot. I would like to keep the stock stereo in place. So what I want to do is simply install a new amp in the rear and new rear speakers.

However, I can not find the stock rear amp. Where might it be? Crutchfields said under the rear seat on the pass. side. Not much under there at all. Any ideas? Thanks

It has the cd player, tape player, and cd changer if that matters.

My friends CDE had the amp situated behind the stereo slots in the dash. This was a full Blaupunkt system that was supplied as original from Saab over here.

My friend had some problems with connections with the amp (after pulling it about first admittedly :nono; ) as I remember. Maybe this could be your problem??
