i saw the new 9-7x key fob today. i'm not happy with it at all... Its thick too. and feels light and cheap. But, the 97x is awesome, so fast and the suspension is so tight. Very nice ride....

To be honest, I give GM credit for actually designing a "Saab-like" key for the 9-7X.

It would have been much easier for them to just use the generic GM key and remote that all of the other GM suvs use.

Very true. The key isn't all that bad... does anyone know what the 9-2x key/fob looks like?

this key is the most non-saab key they could have made... it feels like a toy... why doesnt it have a "follow me home" button for the lights? also, i think this is the generic key but twice as big.....

It looks like the same generic buttons, but the design of the key is all new.

And I don't think it's that bad, the 9-5 has a very similar key design.

Yeah, the 9-3 has an amazing key, but the 9-7x's is still nicer than what most Japanese companies have.

To answer cyboexpo2002's question. The 9-2X has a generic Subaru key with Saab printed on it instead of Subaru. I'll try to get a pic.

Subaru fob (9-2X's is identical)

and the key is just a generic black topped key, seperate from the remote.

Giant heads... lol... meh... doesn't really matter... you can't judge a car by its key.

:) Not bad, a pretty standard Key Fob. I am pleased to read that somone has driven the car and was pleased with the drive.

I agree with whoever said that GM deserves credit for even designing a key that's one better than what their other SUVs have, and more importantly, what their other SUVs at the 9-7x's price point have (ie. Rainier, Envoy Denali). You can still see that it's not completely original; it looks like they just molded a key into a regular GM remote. Most people won't notice however. I guess it's not as substantial as the one I have for my 01 9-3 (the same one the 9-5 has). That could be a sore point for some people.

So you've driven a 9-7x? More impressions? Do you work for a dealer or something? Come on, come on... DETAILS!!!:cheesy:

Its amazing... it was the V8 which packs a punch. With the suspension being so tight it felt real nice. The large 18" wheels give it a nice feel as well. This is a very nice ride and classic saabers will be happy, well, as happy as they can be.

SO you've been driving one ? Cuz there's an adjacent thread here where someone saw two in Michigan. I thought they weren't gonna even be in showrooms until May. Please ..... inquiring minds want to know :)

No American cars have laser cut keys.

That's a European thing.
