I had to replace my radio with a used one in my9-5 do you know if there is any way of getting this new/used radio to be reprogramed if alredy removed from the original car. i do have the original damaged radio and the serial number from where the replacement came from.Bp

Hi, welcome!
I'm assuming your simply swapping like for like oem head units..?
If so I may have some bad news....
The 9-5's head units are 'hard coded' to the car, saab simply puts it as married to the car...
Which means you can't swap units between cars willy nilly!
What must happen is the head unit needs to be 'divorced' from donor car before removal, then and only then can it be fitted to another car!
But then it needs to be 'married' to the 'new' car...
All of this can only be done using the Saab Rech2 diagnostics and programming tool!
So there are no radio codes you can input yourself as per 'normal' oem head units I'm afraid!
If the head unit you've bought wasn't divorced, it will never work! as it must be divorced in the car it was married to!
No bigamy with SAAB...

i read your answer and i began to think about this and there must a chip in the original radio that can be removed and replaced into new radio (radio that i can not divorce but need to use for carcase) what do you think and would you have any info on who to contact to shed some light on the situation.

Is it possible to replace the head unit or fit standard stereo to existing head unit space and amp. I have AS3 upgrade but would like to know if I can fit satnav/new head unit in future if I get bored of the current unit.
