I am always doing something to my car ('94 900se), usually things that are free that I can make at my dads garage, but I think its time to get a new turbo.. I know you can get a td04 off a 94-98 9000 aero but I dont see too many of em lying around... my question is, if I take a bigger turbo off another car at a junk yard, will it still work as good as one thats off a saab? I plan on having a custom exhaust manifold made for it anyway but is there any other things I would need for it to fit in right?

I have found that a lot of similar tubos on other cars have the exhaust exit on the passenger side rather than the driver's side like Saabs. If you want td04 family, there are various other Saab applications. The 00-02 HOT 9-3 and 99-02 Viggen also have this type of turbo, with a slightly smaller exhaust side than the 9000 aero.

There is also an option of a t28 hybrid I beleibe. Tweek's Turbos has this on his car. maybe he'll pipe up and fill us in.
