Saab will be staying at Trollhattan (for now at least). Seems the Swedish government has agreed on some infrastructure etc and GM will continue to build Saabs there as well as Caddy's.


A second executive with the world's largest automaker also said that Saab's continued presence in Sweden is key to the brand.

Well, here's to more speculation!

Since 4500 Opel employees took the special plan instead of layoffs, I would think they're closer to closing the Opel plant than the Saab plant, but that's just my thought. Saab needs to stay in Sweden. It would be a more serious blow to that country than it would be to Germany if that plant were to close.
