Well, I was wondering what the next mod should be for my car. I had the saab performance exhaust put on, and I like it a lot. I had the boost turned up as much as it could be with the tronic system that is being used. Well this is what the dealer told me. What should I do next. These are the only things I have done so far? Should I mess with the intake at all? If so what should I do, what other mods should I be looking at. Thanks for all your advice. I am looking for some quicks from my car. I have one other random question. Since I asked the dealer to turn up the boost, I have noticed a little more gas consumption. Is this typical. Would having a better intake, burn a little more efficient and help out with gas mileage? Just curious. I want people to be shocked how quick my little saab is. By the way, it is a 94 900 SE Turbo with 142,000 on body, and 58,000 on engine. Turbo is originial turbo with 142,000 miles on it.
Sorry, but I have one more question. Will the hybrid t3/t4 bolt up to were my turbo is now. Will I notice any improvement if I add this turbo to my car over the stock turbo? Will the turbo from a 9-3 fit on my car and will the ECU from a 9-3 plug into my car. Will this help me any?
HOW did your dealer turn up the boost?

After thinking about it, I am not sure. I asked them to do it, and after reading some posts on here, there really is no way to adjust the APC and that is what they (the dealer) said. When I picked up the car, they said they could not really adjust it all that much because it was APC controlled and what not. Under the assumption I was having smoke blown up my ***, I take it they did nothing, but I did see a loss in fuel consumption. Twice I have had to take my car back to them after they have serviced it because something was messed up. The first time I took it back was because 300 miles out of a major service the oil return line fell off, and the engine threw a rod. Then after they put a new engine in it, I had to take it back because they did not tighten down the power steeering lines. Of course they swear they never touched the oil lines in the major service. But, good question on how they turned up the boost. Maybe they did not. Just what do I need to do, to make my car reliable but scream at the same time????? :-?
But do you see an incread amount of boost over the stock configuration?
To increase the boost safetly on a car with Trionic 5 you need to change the software. Just can just as well put a bleed valve ("manual boost controller" or whatever other name of the same thing) to increase the boost, but by doing this you disable Trionics possibility to reduce boost if knocking occurs! The risc of damage to the engine increase a lot by doing this!
If thinking about increasing the boost you should get a "chip" from some tuner you trust.

if you install an MBC, you can increase the max boost subject to fuel cutoff point in trionic. trionic can still retard timing and enrich fuel to combat knock but cannot reduce boost.
also you can install inline with the BPC and retain all trionic functionality but you cannot increase max boost (get higher boost in gears 1-2).
I would recommend for you to rework the throttle body transition casting and get a K&N or AMSOIL type air filter. The stock airbox is easy to mod as well. this will smooth out your accel and lessens restriction to airflow which is good. they should go nicely with your exhaust. these mods are detailed on ERP's good website

I don't think the dealer did anything to your car
conrad> True, but the problem is that when retarding timing the temperature of the exhaust gases increase which can hurt both your valves, turbo and other equipment.
