Don't know if this has been discussed before. But it just hit me that if Saab's China Division does even a modest sales volume in China, say 10,000 units in the first year with slow but steady annual increases thereafter, Saab Global is better off overall right ? Would this not take the pressure off of significant sales increases in North America or anywhere else ? IIRC GM's goal for Saab's global sales was 200,000-300,000 units per year. With the way China's appetite for cars is going, that target may be reached much sooner than we think ..... I bet there's hundreds of thousands of Chinese university professors waiting to drive a Saab

if saab wants to sell cars in china they need to get on the technology bandwagon and start putting more gadgets in their vehicles.

Maybe a lot of Chinese university professors would like to drive Saabs, but knowing what professors make in the P.R.C. it is doubtful that any could afford one. Profossorial salaries in China are at the level the most rabid anti-intellectual in this country would prefer - genteel poverty like it was in the 1950s.
