: Got myself a bullnose!
I drove home in my 'new' 1964 96 yesterday. 150 miles across winding roads. I haven't had so much fun in a car for ages. Matthew gave me a lift over and provided the support crew and service barge on the way back (Big thanks). If anyone saw our little convoy you were probably dazzled by the grinning faces.
I've been looking for a 2 stroke for a while Long green nose (http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33061) I enjoyed the V4's but hadn't realised quite how entertaining the stroker could be.
There are a few jobs to do on this one (wait for the posts), but it's MOt'ed at the moment, tax exempt, and the insurance was £57. So finally made the grade, I have a stroker. :D
Funkman 24-01-05, 11:53 AM Welcome to the club ;)
Anything you want to know, do not hesitate to ask.
Matthew 25-01-05, 10:33 AM What a fun day! :D We drove out to Letchworth in Fred's 900T to collect the car, which Fred then drove back to Gloucester and I :cheesy: drove his 900T back :D
You can learn a lot by following a car and watching the way it flows along the road, and man does this car ever flow. It has an elegance and grace of movement that is utterly charming and charismatic.
It is fair to say that by the end of the journey we were all in love with this quirky and charming Swedish car :D There really isn't anything else on the road to rival it.
Matthew 25-01-05, 10:34 AM Anyway, here are a few pics I managed to take before my camera gave up.
Fred inspects the car...

Matthew 25-01-05, 10:37 AM You wouldn't believe how that car can zip through the lanes... I can believe that Fred was grinning like a nutter :cheesy: behind the wheel :D
... and, it's a 3-speed '64! Congrats! Not very common!
Funkman 25-01-05, 01:54 PM Looking good. A bit of tidying and it will be great ;)
Thanks for posting the pictures Matthew, super quality as always. One question, who's that old guy in the brown jumper?
First job is to reattach the horn ring (Mishap with previous owners 2 year old son). Then the brakes...
Ok with the 64 (round dials) but what in the pictures makes it a 3 speed?

The gearstick and gearbox.
nutcase 25-01-05, 05:17 PM Superb! :)
First job is to reattach the horn ring
Just insert and twist to lock in place!
Ok with the 64 (round dials) but what in the pictures makes it a 3 speed?
The gear shifter. Different design at the base than the 4-speeds!
Fliptop 26-01-05, 12:45 PM What a beaut, nice one fella:cheesy:
