So, it used to be on this site before the changes to the site, but when is the 9-7x scheduled to hit dealers?

sometime in April. I'm going to say April 15. That sounds like a good date.

That'll be like a year since it was shown in NY. Why such a long wait? The 9-2x didn't take more than six months since it was shown in LA.

they had to finish killing off olds. and this time of the year isn't good for a new product launch
Reason for the long wait is the 9-7 is going to much more saab then the 9-2, key in center console, completely redesigned suspension, etc... They are taking there time with this one so it won't be a complete re-badge.

yeah that too. Hopefully they can make a few more changes. Active Head Restraints would be nice.

Latest rumor from a small dealership (Trio Motors) is that a 9-7x will be in the showroom (but not for sale) as early as mid February, with deliveries occurring by mid March.......approximately 1 month early.
Maybe just hopeful thinking. We'll see in about 4 weeks.

Both SaabUSA and SaabCanada sites indicate "Spring 2005"

Perfect timing for an AWD SUV, just in time to see the snow melt. Or in California, in time for the rain to stop (hopefully  ). Really can't wait for it. Seeing it in LA makes me want to put it against the other luxury SUVs.

they would be throwing away money by releasing the car in the winter. sales are slow this time of the year.

As an FYI, I work at a Saab store and we are getting our first on in May.
Warthog-Are a lot of customers asking about it? Is there a lot of anticipation for its arrival? Just wondering if anyone is talking about it. Here in New England A lot of dealers have been telling me there is a lot of "buzz" on the street about the 9-7X and they expect to pre-sell alot of orders before the truck actually arrives.

There's supposedly a "sneek peek" at Saab of Santa Ana on Feb. 17-18. Here's my source:http://saabnet.com/tsn/bb/general/index.html?bID=152601

TC... yes, lots of people are anticipating its arrival. I have a list of around 20 people who would like to know when the 9-7x arrives to our dealership.

Wonder if the 9-2X had the same level of buyer anticipation ?

Anyone notice the new pics on the 9-7x site?

Seen all the exterior shots before, but some of the interior shots are new. I like the white baseball glove stitching on the center console cover :)

They have a new 360 as well. Is it just me or does the wood look a little cheesy?

Local dealer just phoned. Said units would be available for veiwing in April, however no sales until May, per GM. Dealers are taking orders. The only options are color, I6 or V8 and whether one wants a DVD or moonroof.
Although I just acquired a NorthStar SRX (which is great fun to drive), I will be testing these shortly and doing a literal comparison. Good luck to all who are considering this vehicle.
For those others who see it as an abonomination to the Saab family, you voice has been heard and heard and heard and heard and heard and heard and heard...........

Wasn't a nav system supposed to be available? Noticed all of the ones at the LA, Detroit, and Chicago shows at nav systems.

I think you are correct. That item did not come up in my conversation. Perhaps the DVD is linked to the Navigation system. That is how it is in my SRX.

The Nav system will be available in the 2006 model which will be available in Sept. Oct 2005

What's the deal with that? Are they trying to promote Onstar more or something? As much as I like the concept of onstar, I'd rather have the nav screen, since onstar isn't all that reliable.
Did some informal research on various "Build your own" sites from Buick and GMC to compare how much of a value the 9-7x is to other luxury GMT360 variants. Both the Rainier and Envoy Denali are over 41 grand for a V8, DVD, 6-disc CD changer, XM Satellite Radio, 4WD, and pretty much all of the equipment standard on the 9-7x Arc, which stickers for $40,990. Plus you get a better interior, longer warranty, free scheduled maintainance, 18" wheels, and better steering and suspension settings, among other things.

Interesting, but note that you can get 6-7k off of the Ranier, or at least you could.

Depending on 9-7x sales, Saab could end up slapping some incentives later in the year. They're taking their time to make sure they don't screw up this launch.

Yea one reason I would think long and hard before buying right off unless they ahve a nice intro lease deal -- with the likelyhood of heavy incentives down the orad..

:p good point. Yes I should. However.......
I am still facinated by the 9-7x. Just talked to a driver at the Milford (GM) Proving Grounds last night at a local coffee shop. He says the 9-7x w/ the 8-6-4 V8 "SCREAMS". He was very impressed with the performance. Said the interior is quite nice (nicer than the Rainier). However when I mentioned that I recently acquired an SRX his reply indicated both satisfaction and envy. He has driven the New H3's but said they are underpowered w/ the 5 cylinder for their weight.
But yes, technically I should make an update
