Does anyone know of a place that makes a performance intake for a 97 900S 2.3 liter non-turbo??? because whenever i ask someone what mods to do they say put an intake and exhaust on and while i found an exhaust for my N/A Saab i have yet to find an intake :(
the cheapest and most sensible answer for you is to either just get a k&n drop in filter, or make your own intake. i know that engstrom.net and www.abbottracing.com sell intakes for my NG900 for around $200, but i'm just going to build my own, considering that all these $200 intakes are is a pipe leading to a less restrictive cone filter... a value of about $35 dollars max. hope i helped... gl

Well i've already put a K&N drop in filter in my car and it hardly seemed to have much affect at all :( The intake u referred to says its for a turbo saab i have NON-TURBO how do u go about building ur own intake??? are there any intakes for non-turbo saab's??? Would an intake have a greater affect than just a drop in K&N filter???
...It will make a barely noticible difference to a NA car, in fact there's not much that will make the kind of difference that I think you're looking for. A new engine chip will give you an extra 10bhp and a bit more torque, but you end up paying handsomely for little gain IMHO.
If you want performance (and I get the feeling you do), there's little option other than to bite the bullet, and buy the turbo model. It's a completely different animal altogether, much more to it than an NA with a turbo bolted on... and ultimately more tweekable.
You then get the uprated brakes, suspension, handling, gearing etc. which is important if you're charging about.
Keep those stunning alloys though!

i'm pretty sure that the intake tube for the non-turbo is also 3", but i could be wrong. if it is 3", which it is for most cars out there, then building an intake would be very easy. go to home depot get some 2" piping (which has 2.75" opening) and go buy a 3" filter cone... simple....
of course though your car isnt going to benefit as much as a turbo.. when you have a turbo, it aimplifies upgrade gains quite a bit. it might be a good idea to go for show over go? there are some pretty nice saab body kits.

Well i'd like to buy a turbo but i just bought the 900 i have a little over a year ago and buying another one i don't have the money for. More or less my car is only to get me through college for the next four years then i'll probably buy something else. I kinda just want more power period. I know my N/A saab will never be sports car fast. I just want some extra go power for everyday driving and passing power when u really need it!
