but I have Reason to believe you're Asking about making a hybrid turbo.


*most* garretts, within the same "family" use the same center-section, and fasteners.
Same With mitsubishi.

so, if you have some 14b parts, and Some 16G parts, you can make a fun turbo

same with garrett.
some t25 and some t28 parts you can make *something*

what are you trying to do?

you want a bigger beefier turbo to fit where your stock turbo is? or....?

i have a stock td04-15t turbo.... and a saab 9000 aero td04-15g turbo i would like to know if it would make sense to put the exhaust side of the 15g on the 15t... or is it just pointless
kind of like taking a 5cm2 side and replacing with a 5cm2 side

chances Are, the housing is the same...
especially if they're both 5cm housings (bleh)

you're biggest benefit would be in the wheels themselves.
If the "T" is single vein Impellar, and the "G" is dual-veined (usually "G" are) you'd have gains.. plus, I'm sure the trims are more aggressive on both hot and cold-side.

I wouldn't spend money upgrading to anything smaller than a Big 16G with 7cm housing.

you can do a lot using your same housings, and doing some machining/port-work
and you COULD fit some pretty Aggressive wheels in the stock housings. it Would take some Time to Work it out, though.

this isnt a dsm so i wont b upgrading to any g turbos i am just trying to find out if the 15g exhaust side off an aero, which i have right in front of me.... is any bigger than my 15t on the car right now

if they're both 5cm housings, they're both the same.
it's not the HOUSING that is the improvement... it's the wheels inside.

Yes Ricot, it will work, but the 15G is not from the Aero, it's from the regular 9000. More info here. The larger 6cm housing will give you better top end boost.

g96 actually it is the housing....the 15t has bigger compressor wheel and the 15g has a bigger exhaust housing which will yield better top end :)

I dont' see how one 5cm housing could be BIGGER than another?

if the cross-section of the turbo inlet is 5cm, it Doesn't matter if there was NOTHING behind it...

unless the restriction is somewhere else?
are you trying to sneak Air Past the blades?
