LOL. I didn't notice that at first. Funny how they decided to do that. I wonder if they truly were trying to go for a little symbolism.

Reminds me of a kids game, "one (two?) of these doesn't belong here. can you spot which one". :cheesy:

I think the 9-5 is one of the sharpest cars on the road, particularly the wagon, and will be hard to improve on.

that may be so but take a look at what the manufacuters are cooking up for their luxury sport sedans.

Everyone else sucks so I left them out.

New 5 series is awful. The E-class is a huge improvement over the already sharp previous generation, although there's a price premium to get an MB, and the new A6 manages to improve on the old A6, which may be *the* sharpest car on the road, particularly the 4.2 versions.

The RL was already longer in the tooth than then 9-5, and wasn't a very impressive car, either. Acura is on a real roll, though, and the new RL will take sales away from everybody.

You're point is well taken, but I think the current 9-5 stands up well to even these newer models. I think my point is that it's unfortunate that just because a "new" model comes out, that doesn't mean the older competition is suddenly dog food, although that's the way people seem to think. If I were looking at new cars, the 9-5 would still be on the top of the list.

Hey, with the exception of the RL, all of these models have (or will have) a wagon version! There seems to be a decent market for the premium wagon. My wife and I fell in love with the E500 wagon, but for $70k, who wouldn't! :)

I love the guage cluster on the RL. But the outside I'm not htat fond of, it seems that they are going the Lexus, Camry direction with the styling.

I have always loved the Audi styling but it might take me a little while to get used to the grill on it but everything else looks nice.

Mercedes seems to be making their cars look better and better, wish I had the money to get the E-55 AMG. I saw it and sat in it at an auto show once, man I was sold.

If you've got a good 40-50k to spend on a new car. chances are it's not going to be on a 9-5. the numbers don't lie.

i'll guarantee you that people who buy the 9-5 aren't looking at the affromentioned cars. if they did then they couldn't afford them.

the only thing the 9-5 may have over the other vehicles are the cooled seats and price.

i'm sorry but when everyone else releases a new product and you don't, that puts you at the bottom of the list.

if saab and gm are smart they can take the strenghts of the other models and put them into their car. imagine the engineering of germany and the technology of japan rolled into one. that is what i would like to see from sweden

I understand that, but I think it's a faulty logic on most people's parts to immediately put it at the bottom, or particularly to rule a car out just because it's not as new a model as others they are looking at. But yes, this is how people think. At this point, since most of Saabs competition has a new model, they are going to be at a disadvantage until something new comes out.
