I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my 93 900 Ruby , to drilled and/or grooved discs and appropriate pads.
The question is , is this likely to affect the performance
of the ABS ?
The ABS will not be affected as the sensors are not on the disk. The drilled and grooved disks cool better and reduce break fade, decent pads are a must also

Drilled disks also warp and crack more easily. I'm about to upgrade my 91T16 to late 9000 front calipers and disks - larger pad area and thicker disks reduce fade and improve braking and you only need to do minor mods to the back plate and hose connections to fit them. The other thing is that the 9000 caliper will take a bigger range of specialist pads and compounds including non gassing ones - ie you don't need grooves or holes if your pads don't produce gas!
