There are some intention to import the 9-7x to Europe.

Saab is studiyng to sell in some markets the 9-7x an also the 9-2x, but the decision isn't sure yet.

Anybody can translate this article, it is from holland. I can read somewhere there intention to import the 9-7x to Holland, belgium, holland and Sweden. But it hasn't any logical reason to import the 9-7x and 9-2x, to belgium and Holland, where the Diesel engine are the majority of sells, for this reason there is no intention to sell those cars to Spain, for example.

anybody has more info about that?

[extermely poor] translation:

thanks for the translation.

I hope will not happen the same as Volvo with the XC90. There was more units in hands of unofficial dealers(multibrand dealers/second hand dealers....) than Volvo dealers, The father of one of my best friends it is the director of a Volvo dealer and told me, there was many problems to deliver the cars, because it seems there is a "mafia" or something similar, many cars where directly to unofficial dealers and sell it at higher price when the volvo dealers recived many few units, the demand is so high and the people pay many money for the cars. For example when the volvo dealer recive less than 15 units during months, one multibrand dealer has more than 50 units at the same time to sell, with a price about 5-10% higher.

Maybe a little late, but here is a better translation.

HAMBURG – At this moment, Saab only has plans to sell the 9-7X on the American market, but the Dutch importer would love to have the 4x4 in his model line up. The director of our native representative is so enthusiastic about the market potential of the 9-7X, he considers getting the 9-7X himself out of the US.

Pieter Gabriëls, CEO of the Dutch Saab importer is convinced if he doesn’t import the 9-7X to our country, somebody else will do. Gabriëls wants to be ahead of the grey import, or even arrange the grey import himself. He thinks there will be about 700 to 900 Dutch people a year ready to by this SUV.

With the 9-7X, Saab adapts to the strong growing market of luxurious offroaders in the US. The 4x4 is fabricated by parent company GM in Ohio. It’s based on the Oldsmobile Bravada, of which the production ended.

So why does GM not try to sell the Olds Blazer or the Chevrolet Bravado as exactly what they are - oversized American motor vehicles ..
Why involve Saab ??
Oh, I know, GM cares only about profit, and lots of it - who cares who is hurt..
Ten years from now, there may be no more GM, much less Saab.
And we will all be driving Chinese vehicles !

Autoweek, a dutch car magazine, writes on its website (http://www.autoweek.nl/newsdisp.php?cache=no&ID=2860) that the 9-7x will definitely not come to europe, because it is just too american and would therefore do more damage to Saabs image than the sales would make up for. I can't say I'm sorry!

a village near where I live, there is a second hand dealer, it always has imported cars, many times when the official dealer hasn't it, he has the new model, of any brand. For example the Lexus Rx300 and now he has many other USA models, as the Infinity SUV, Fx45, and others....

I hope it will have a Saab and then, jejejeje i will make a test.

With the exchange rates so good these days (for American manufacturers) GM should figure out a way to export it. A lot of rich people in Europe do buy big American SUVs, and like this Dutch importer says, it could be sell quite well to a small segment. Or they should just let this Dutch guy handle it; it won't even be any risk to GM in case they don't sell.
