I have just fitted an Aero ECU to my 98 LPT. The car runs great. The ECU is a 2000 model, the first Areo in Australia. Problem is the 2000 model came with 2 Catalytic converters, one straight after the Turbo, with an O2 sensor fitted behind. My problem ! I now have engine check light showing because I don't have a rear O2 sensor, car runs Great ! I am thinking of getting new Exhaust from Turbo back, and can install a second O2 sensor. If I do this ,with out the second Cat,will the check engine light now go out ? Or will the T7 still show a fault as there is no Catalytic converter in place. My other alternative is to make an electronic fix. If I know the voltage and resistance figures required then I can make a unit and plug in and the light should go out, this would mean that the check engine light would now come on for other issues.

Please advise, only other solution is to remove bulb !

Thank you I am told by my tech that the slot is there for the sensor, the question is if I go to the trouble of fitting it, will the light go out since I'm not prepared to fit front Catalytic converter as this would be to restrictive.
Thanks again for the help

im confused do you have a cat now on the car if you do all ( hopefully ) you will need to do is drill a hole after the cat get an o2 sensor and run wires and a conctor which i will supply part numbers when i can and it should theortically put the light out
We'll see what happens

I'm guessing that if, when you get your new exhaust, you get 2 racing cats, it will be no more restrictive than your current cat.

Yes I have a single cat Model, and yes I will replace with High flow when I build new exhaust. I don't want to put the First cat in due to restriction in gas flow, why put the cat in and get only gas flow equivalent to what I have ? What I hope is if I make Hole for second Sensor , and if placing one in will turn light out then I will do, but I don't know if the second sensor has any other function in T7 other than to show if the first cat is OK ? Currently not having the second sensor doesn't seem to effect performance or feul economy, so I suspect that the second sensor is only there to monitor how the first cat is going ? However I don't know and can't seem to find out.

Thanks Once again
