I recently went to a car show (last weekend), and they were giving an offer there, for $85 to tint any car. The only 'catch' was you had to sign up for an appointment that day. Tinting a Saab is usually somewhat pricey because of that large hatchback, at it would have costed me a lot more.
So I signed up for an appoinment and got my windows tinted. I got 35% all around (except the front window), and I thought I'd post some pics. Another thing to keep in mind, is when I got there they 'hooked' me into getting the lifetime warrenty for an extra $30 charge (so $115 total which wasn't bad at all).
Enjoy! :D
Looks great man! I'm about to get mine redone. 5% all around, and 20% on the windshield. :o It'll be great.
Very nice! I was wondering which shade I should get on my black car. Now I know. :D

My friend also got 15% on his Black Honda Del Sol, and he can barely see out of his windows at night. Not to mention if your going to be driving in rain or snow- you'll be blind. And that's 15%... 5% could be dangerous! But that's up to you; just a word of caution. I saw the sample of 35%, and I thought it was gonna turn out way too light- I was wrong and I love it! Thanks for the comments.

Funny.. I have 15% on my del sol as well lol. My buddys bmw has 5%. It actually isnt soo bad. I might go for 10% and 20% in the front just for the rare times where theres no street lights.

My friend has 20% all the way around and it looks real good.. you can still see inside. I was planning on going with that.. however my car is exactly the same as the one above and daaammnnn that looks good :) .. i might go with 35%, now you've got me split!

I'd like to go down that route but UK legislation does bot permit front side glass tinting anymore, but if the front sides are say 5 - 10% but all the rears are 35%, it would be difficult to tell  . Looks damned good btw Turbo 900.
Surely with all the regs over there, they'd check you out with a tint meter at your MOT, wouldn't they Raggy?
That tint looks nice BTW, 900t. I wouldn't mind some light tint on mine.
For those lightning blue Viggen owners, I would think that amber tint would look great. My brother has it on his blue Nissan Pathfinder and it really makes an impression.

you can get basically any kind of tint anywhere here in the states.. the shops will do it, only because people do it for their show cars, ect. 5% is overkill though... i think 20% is the darkest anyone should go. You arent a limosine.

Thanks for the comments! :D I really thought 35% would be really light, but on a dark colored car, it looks amazing.
Seth, if I could do it over again- with 20% or 35%, I'd do 35% again. My friend with the Del Sol actually complains that he can't see that good with the 15% at night; but he only drives that car in summer- so he doesn't have to deal with snow and the majority of the rainning season. That could be a major issue that would make you pick 35% for sure. I can see fine at night, but the tint is still looking good.

I've seen 2.5% tint. Might as well paint the windows black though. I'm going with 35% all around, but 20% might be nice for the sunnier states.

First, I just want to say that your new 35% tint looks excellent on your Saab. Great job! :D :cheesy: :D :cheesy:
Second, in response to the ultra dark tints...
I think it is important to get a good balance between looks and safety. I mean, if some guy hits my precious Saab because he can't see anything anything else on the road through his super black tint, he is getting his *** whooped.
Kind of like those aftermarket HID kits that are not installed correctly or aimed properly and they blind oncoming traffic and also blind you when they are behind you. I have almost been run off the road because of those!
so, in the name of safety, sometimes it is best to compromise a little bit. That said, I fully understand and can agree with not liking when some hippocritical lawmaker or policeman in a limo-tint car tells you what you can and can't do with your own car.

5% is limo tint. I went 15% all the way around and it's more than enough, and on very rare occasions I think it's a little too much.
I did 35% on my windshield, but that was a mistake, IMO. Since I've been getting rock chips and now have a crack in the windshield, I'll have to get the tint redone when I replace the window, and tint places don't insure the tint for your windshield, and many won't even do it.
When I replace the windsheild, I won't be redoing the tint.
What is the legal limit in the states? or is it set different by each state?

it's different for each state.

after seeing this im definitely thinking 35 all around on my saab, anything lower would be too dark, plus delaware has a very light legal tint level, something like 75%, not even worth it to get it done to that level, id rather have the ticket and save the leather.

Adding my kudos for the great looking window tint.
I got to go to the car shows and find a deal like that one.

Do you have a picture of that car? I was wondering what an amber tint looked like.
Better yet, anyone have a Viggen with an amber tint?
P.S. - Thanks for all the comments! :cheesy:
