Hey i have decided to drop the idea of gettin JE forged pistons the price was great around 550 -650 not bad thats half dealer in my area but i can't wait 5 or so weeks till they get here i leave for the USAF Aug 20 and it just wouldn't get done so i have grabbed a piston out of a 9000 turbo and but i do have a slightly large ques does anyone know if the bore size in the 9000 was any different i grabbed it out of an 87 turbo 9000 and mine is a 87 900 turbo i think the engines are very similar but the rings out of my engine are smaller then those out of the 9000 though i put the one piston in my block and i noticed no diff in the way it moved up and down as compared to one of the orig pistons. pls advise

In 2.0 litre engines, both 900 and 9000 have the same pistons. In fact, the 2.0 16V engines are exactly the same, they just have different manifolds.
2.3 litre 9000 unit is a different story, though...

hey thnks for the help yeah my saab dealer said about the same though the pistons b/t a turbo and spg have different alloy mixture for heat handling and what not but this is a temp thing not for very long so it will work for now.
