Umm... My Saab's named 9-5 Aero.

Get over it. Your saab is not a living thing.

Its a good car, but it's still "just another car" (duck and cover)

(that being said, the college kids around here tend to call it the Snaab, trying to make it sound like Snob)

I for one don't consider it a particularly snobby car... but thats just me..

Heeeeey.. I like Fiats.. and they're not *that* bad.. My grandpa has a '92 Uno he runs every day in normal Italian traffic (Stefano can tell you what that's like :cheesy: ), it's still running strong.

Anyhow, names.. My parent's Mazda would probably answer to "you f***!!" or "stupid douche of a car" cause I learned to drive a stick on it..

It might not be a living thing, but I believe Saabs have enough personality to deserve a name.

well after a mere 2 hours of open A-roads.. she does deserve a name.. and you can keep any car after the 80's (still!).

my respect list (after actually driving them, not just reading clips!) now heads up with the T16s, followed by the 327i (E30) alpina (sorry - saab still wins though).. following downhill from there, i think the scooby's about 6th place..

diss list (as in disappointment once given the keys) still heads up with the 911 turbo vert (new shape water cooled tat).. yuk.

for me the pinnacle of car design has passed, technology may advance with microchips and other nonsense.. but something else has long left the building..
where did they go so wrong?

my old '87 honda accord was known as the 'two~fiddy special' (how much i paid for it)
my '86 saab 900 is known as the 'flesh mobile' (dolomiter sand color=fleshy)
my '97 saab 900S has no name, perhaps i'll start calling it 'no name' I need to come up with something better than that though.

Katryna? Well, okay then... um...

My 2003 9-3SS Arc is usually called "The Saab" because it is the only one in the family.

depends on mood.

If I hold my lip just right it call it aly
If I don't.... it has been called F****** P**** of S***,also some other rather interesting things .

BTW the bad name I called it was today at an intersection.I'm turning left, get about half way through the intersection and the damn car just dies.

Oh no Gearhead!

I don't have a name for my Saab. Precious comes to mind. Great....now I am racking my brain for names. I will think of something good.

My first car was a 85 Nissan Sentra. My whole family referred to it as "The Tinker Toy".

My first car which was a 1100cc Ford Fiesta was called 'The Blue Rocket' for obvious reasons, my C900 is called 'Black Beauty' for even more obvious but less sarcastic reasons.

"Poxy Pulsar"

My 9-3 SS Vector is called "Thor". My old car (a Polo) was called Dragon due to the color - DragonGreen. i took Thor cause it's so powerfull, it's swedish and why not. ;)

So far my current Saab is without a name...previous crimes against taste comitted in my past include:

VW Golf - named 'Rolf' (named by an old girlfriend)
Ford Fiesta - named 'Esther' (her car)
Citroen CX - named 'heap' (I named this one...apt as well)
2nd Citroen CX - named 'heap 2' (hmmm originality overload here....)
Renault 5 GT Turbo - named 'wee beasty'
Land Rover Defender 90TDI - named 'shed'

neither of my Saabs have had a name - is it important that it gets one? (at the moment it is just referred to 'my car' as opposed to 'her car')(oh and you will be glad to hear that the her is not the same her as named cars rolf and esther...)

Well she doesn't got a name (yet?).
But I talk to her a lot. Does that count too? :-?
Usually I name her (it a she, that's for sure! :) ) 'Sunshine' or 'Beautyful', but as I do that too with some (girl)friends, I don't count it as a name. :)

Well the wife named my C900 "Ingred My Sweedish Mistress" because I spend more time with her than I do with my wife. I just keep telling her that its a good thing that she's not high maitenance too because then one of then would have to go. Of cousre I never say which one but we all know the answer!!!! :cheesy: :cheesy:
