: Saab diecasts?

Enigma 900

Hey!
Were there many Saab diecast cars produced? I know many planes were made, but the only 1:18 Saab I've seen was a C900 vert by Anson, which I swiftly purchased. It has an engine, opening doors, boot, bonnet and all that; it's really cool! :D

Does anyone else have any Saab diecasts?

Simon

I've got the Anson C900 Convertible, couple of Burago diecasts, a plastic model of a C900 made in Finland, Majorette C900, couple of autosculpt C900 models and the one to top them all, the ultra rare C900 Remote control car 8) oh and I've got a 9-3 Viggen remote control car as well!

I've got a little pewter 90. Which is fairly cool. And a glut of Cararama 9-3s and 9-5 that all turned up in Sheffield pound-shop last year.

I prefer F1 cars for collecting, really. No wonder I've never got any money. Here's some of them...

I have two. The Anson 1/18 that sits on my TV and the a small 5dr Majorette blue model that sits right below it..

I REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY want a Stahlberg model.. I'd do anything for one, but they're too damn expensive

Edit: I collect model cars and I have since I was like 18 months old.. I have over 80 1/18 cars.. I don't count the little ones anymore, I lost track.. I can take pictures and post them if someone wants to re-size them for me..

Oh my god :o :o
Never seen those before. It has always amazed me that model makers never did the T16S 3 door which for many is the most popular and desired model. I HAVE to have that black one. Its just like my car. Looks like the 16 inchers and complete with the now rare orange indicators :cheesy: I REALLY have to have that model, weel spotted Zars

The black one is a 1/43 scale model and the silver 1/18. I think I'll make a few phone calls on Monday :cheesy: :cheesy: Will let you know if I get any results :D

Well I've just been surfing for info on those two 900 turbos. The silver one looks like it was only made for the swiss market but don't know if it is still available.

The black one is 1/43 and made by Somerville but, like you Zars, didn't find anything specific to that model on the web.
Its a white metal kit that you have to build yourself. Findings on the net suggest that Somerville ceased trading (again don't know when) but has been bought by some other company so who knows :x
I've sent a couple of e-mails to specialist model shops so will too keep you informed.

I must be mad but I have e-mailed the only swiss reference I found for the silver one. Worth a try I suppose. The website showed prices is swiss francs (rather than euros) so not getting too hopeful!

And what the hell, here's another of the black one.

Bassist5 you are absolutely correct it is 1/43.

Think I might be onto a winner. I have done some more searching and have found another site that has an english order form. I have sent off for further info re shipping to UK and costs etc. It looks like the website was last updated last October so quite promising.

Did Switzerland not join the Euro then cos their prices are also SFR?

No, they didn't, because they're not part of the European Union (probably something to do with their neutrality)

I think you're right there, sorry, getting a little carried away there :nono; I've just had our loft done and I plan to get a glass cabinet to display all my 1/18 models (which I am adding to much to the annoyance of my wife). Picked up a really nice Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona the other day 8) Have still got all my old matchbox cars in the carry cases, literally hundreds as my mum used to work for them when they were based in the uk. The oldest one I have is a Lotus Europa dated I think 1965 on the bottom. Most of them are in 'much played with' condition but I'll never get rid of them :nono;
Still a kid at heart :D

Edit: okay, to hell with trying to re-size pics.. I'm going to make a sh*tty Tripod site and put pictures of my models up there, that way I don't have to worry about re-sizing.. i'll post it when I'm done.. 10-15 minutes, probably.

Sadly (read Stupidly) I got rid of all my 1/18 models bar 6 'special (to me) ones. I just had too many and over 20 got car-booted. Just kept my 2 917's (incl Steve McQueen one), Gulf GT40, Ferrari's 312PB & F40 and bburago countach. I also have a 250 california 1/18 model but that is in bits, when I was younger I saw a picture of a real one in a gorgeous burgundy colour so decided to repaint....15 years later....um....

Tend to prefer to collect the 1/43 Bang & Bestetc models, much nicer imo and don't take up half as much space.

I too had lots of matchbox in the big carry cases, got car booted too in a pointless 'clearing out' phase

Some more info on the black and silver T16S models.

The black one is a Somerville model. Somerville went out of production over two years ago and although bought by a new company, they have not produced anything. I was told that the Saab will be very difficult to find now.

I had an e-mail from Switzerland re the silver one. Its still available and with a 10% discount including shipping it costs 83Euros or SFR126, about 55 all in.
If anyone is interested then send me an e-mail or drop me a pm and I will forward all the necessary info provided by the guy.

I plan on doing some more digging on the black saab.

Hello,

I'm winding up my private Saab scale model collection. (http://web.interware.hu/muzx/sale/elado.html)
Most of them are hard to find and really unique.
Drop a mail if you want to have any of them.

Actually there's a lot of Saab diecast models available on the market. They are kind a exclusive models, and very hard to find. Of course, very expensive.

Yesterday I received the new 9-3 MY2009 in 1/18. I bought it through Taobao.com the chinese auction website. Through an agent, taobaonow.com. The price is cheaper, but the thing is I am not happy with it, as the seller or the agent break the diecast, one of the seats was broken and the antena mast.

About the car, its more like a maisto, hot wheels than a Autoart. It has some good details, as the floor, details of the engine and the box its really good. But the quality of details of the interior and the fitment of the roof isn't as good as is should be, for the price is at this moment in some chinese website. And for 400 its on ebay, that's a fraud!!.

It cost me less than a half of the price on ebay, and i thing is expensive, but is the price for the "new" and not available anywhere, than the quality of the product, its good, but the autoart and similar are better.
