My '87 Aero has a Clarion factory system with the Clarion EQ/Spectrum Analyzer. I am trying to locate a wiring schematic for both of them. I am trying to switch to an aftermarket head unit but still use the EQ. I need help. I really don't want to have to bypass the EQ, but if I do I will also need the schematic for the wiring harness. I have done dozens of stereos for my buddies and this is the first time I have hit a brick wall. I am very frustrated. Any help or advise is welcome.

This isn't going to be much help but I have a table of radio harness wire color to cd/eq connector #. You might also try the workshop.

hmmm, I don't know if that's ever been done before, or how it would work. have you thought about using an aftermarket EQ along with the head unit? another option is to ditch the EQ all together and add one of these --

to the slot where the EQ used to sit.
Personally, I would get rid of the factory system all together. they are nice, but most show their age...
you're better off, and you'll get better sound if you ditch the factory system altogether. you will need to splice into the wiring harness on the radio basket in order to use an aftermarket unit. the primary wiring harness can be maintained this way.
get a change holder or factory storage pocket for the EQ location. if you want one, i might have an extra.
But its just so much fun to play with the sliders. I dont know why they ever went away from them. I want to do the same :D

I think you guys are right. I am just going to dump the EQ and splice into the wiring harness. I was up way too late last night surfing the net and found nothing useful. Oh well, I guess I will go out and put it in. Thanks.
do a search for stereo installation in the C900 forum. i posted pics of what I did. (the clamp connectors are only temporary, btw!)
