Undoubtedly at least 18, if not 21. I will make it a point to go to the one in Wallingford, perhaps head over to 5 Barnes Industrial Park Road after to chill with John Moss ;) Zach, we can zip down together then NESA SOC is that weekend like Tweek said. Perhaps a visit to Rhich earlier in the day would be good times, too :)

I DO remember them checking a couple of guys ID's there. BS42 however was 17 at the time of the last one, and he got in no questions asked.

I think it helps if you "look" 18+ They don't even mention age limit on the site, so I don't know if it's even a issue at all.

I'm dissappointed. They arn't even comparing it to the WRX, gee wonder just might be because someone might just notice its the same freaking car LOL.

O well me and my dad are signed up for the 28th.

Well right in the 9-2X booklet I got at the Philadelphia car show, they say that the car is "based on a Subaru design" so it's not exactly a company secret. I think the knowledge is very public already. most people also know that the new 93 SS has a calaiver engine too. I personally don't care. it's a damn good engine. the subaru engine on the otherhand :-?

That, or they are afraid the scoobie is better lol :lol: I heard the Turbo'd AERO version of the 9-2X is slower than the N/A LINEAR 9-2X in acceleration.... :roll: :nono;

You're supposed to be 21...they check your license when you sign in...but My girlfriend was only 20 and they let her do it anyway...they seemed pretty laid back about it.

Sweet! I'm confirmed for St Louis. :) I just went to the Mercedes Benz CSpot event today. Although It is pretty amazing to be driven by an pro in the V6 AMG (Here (http://www.jonesonline.us/cspot/cspot.htm) are my pics from the CSpot event), I'm psyched to see the new Saabs!

Well I just got back from the event, AWESOME! all 4 of us (me [DeLorean], Ian [89saab900], one of Ians friends, and Shore [Burnsside42] got tossed out for driving too hard  what, they need to use these cars tomorrow? 8) I had been talked to several times for putting the cars into 4 wheel drifts, but after Ians friend (sorry, I forget his name) took the 92X aero with all 4 of us in it, balls out top speed on the road course, as soon as we pulled in and the guy walked up, I think we all knew what was going to happen then :cheesy: Shore shot a few videos of me driving the 92X aero and I think we'll all agree it's a really nice car. I liked the Volvo, got going really fast but it had a "big car" feel to it. I hated the RSX, but I think part of the problem with that was the steering rack was starting to fail. the VW Jetta, nothing special... it moved OK, handled fair, and was overall, a bland car. The Mini was nice, probably the best handler there. I liked the 92X, cornered REALLY well however one of the main things that bugged me was the turbo lag. off the line, it was horrible... I think even my C-900 could out run it on a straight line. Here are the videos--

Yes, i had a BLAST! Nice to beat on cars...i mean test drive cars on a closed course...for free and get some nice company and food.

My friend Mikey (refered to by delorean) had a blast too. He is a WRX owner curious about the 9-2x.

The staff was wonderful. Altough my dad and I (i think) lost our pocket knife, see if we can get ahold of the staff to get them back. We'll see.

RSX sucked, but i was corrected the steering rack has some sort of electrocic magic stuff that aprently got confused and just would shut off......still sucked..........and the type-R (or is it S?) has completely different suspension.

Volvo didn't do too bad.....if you had 3 extra ppl to lean correctly for handling  .

By far the Mini-Cooper and Aero were the best.

They were legitimately concerned about just that! When we finally got kicked out his explanation was "We need these cars to last a few more months"

I went out to Raynham, MA to check out the 92x Proving Grounds on Sat. Overall, I didn't like the car, but here are my rankings for all of the competitors and the 92x out of 10:

Saab 92x Aero (didn't bother with the N/A engine):
Handling - 8 (best steering repsonse in the slalom, AWD was noticably more controlled, somewhat harsh ride)
Engine - 2 (absolutely no power under 3500 RPM, did not feel like 227 HP, more like 127 HP)
Interior - 4 (not up to Saab standards, no power seats available)
Exterior - 7 (Great look, much nicer than the WRX)
Transmission - 4 (OK, but shift points did not seem matched to the engine and not AutoStick)

Volvo S40 T5:
Handling - 7 (good at everything. A little torque steer off the straight, but not bad. Easy through the cones, not the best.)
Engine - 7 (great power, great sound, second fastest off the line through the speed trap @ 44 MPH)
Interior - 7 (great materials, interesting dash and center console, awesome stereo, comfy seats, HUGE trunk)
Exterior - 7 (cute, but not realy aggressive, 17s look good)
Tramsmission - 7 (Autostick was quick and accurate, best in class, good match with engine)

(The S40 2.4 engined car was equally good. obviously slower, but satisfying acceleration for such low horsepower. )

VW Jetta 1.8T:
Handling - 1 (the worst performer in the corners of the whole bunch. completely aweful. steering was sloppy and difficult to handle. car felt reall heavy.)
Engine - 9 (best of the bunch. fastest thru the speed trap at 45 MPH. great turbo feel.)
Interior - 5 (nice layout, good feel, but i know of several quality and long-term reliability concerns.)
Exterior - 3 (dated and boring)
Transmission - 7 (great match for the engine. shift points were accurate, but autostick was slow to respond.)

Acura RSX:
Handling - 6 (very good, but not the best. Nothing exciting.)
Engine - 5 (underpowered, unexciting, 38 MPH in speed trap)
Interior - 5 (OK, good layout with lots of storage, boring and cheap materials.)
Exterior - 4 (Nothing special. Small coupe. the Scion tC looks much more impressive from the outside.)
Transmission - 3 (poor shifts, needs a manual)

BMW Mini Cooper:
Handling - 9 (go cart feel, very repsonsive steering, not too harsh)
Engine - 6 (impressive for such a little car. 36 MPH through the trap, but felt faster. Good throttle response down low. Need to try the "S")
Interior - 1 (space pod look and feel, mish-mash of parts and colors, seats were rubber?, back seat useless, switches in weird places.)
Exterior - 5 (not as unique or aggressive as the Cooper S, still too "cute")

Comparable cars that were missing in the $30k+ area:
Acura TSX
BMW 325
Infiniti G35
Honda Accord
Ford SVT Focus (~$20k)

I did not think the Mini or RSX were fair competitors. They are simply too small. For the price, the 92x did not seem like a value. There are way too many other choices out there to make me fall head-over-heels for the 92x. and the Volvo outshined it in every way. By the end of the morning, the Saabs were sitting idle while the Mini, VW, and Volvo had lines 5 people deep. It's too bad. It seems GM missed the mark on the 92x either in fit and finish, engine, price, or all of the above.

I still think the 93 is a better deal and a better car, especially if you can pick up a pre-owned one with lower miles.

My daughter's 17. Last year they told her she had to be 18. This year they checked her ID, but let her drive twice anyway, then the third time they stopped her as she was getting in the car. Go figure.

I thought it was a letdown compared to last year, the course shorter with less variety, and the car choice was odd. I was partial to the S40 m'self, but the Mini was a kick...

i actually like the track better this year. the straight was longer and they had a speed trap so you could really compare. didn't have that for the 93 (probably because the C-Class and BMW were considerably faster).

i agree that the car selection was odd for a good comparison.
