: New Key?
How can I (if at all) change out the current key I have for my Saab?
Can they program the car data on to one of the new all in one keys?
I cant find any information on this topic, so I figured Id ask!
Thanks!
T
Yes, if you buy a new key it will have to be programmed to the car along with any other keys you have for the car.

This will more than likely have to be done via the dealer then...
Thanks a lot guys!
They just have some very sleek all ine one keys that I think would suit my purpose a lot better than a key and a dongle...
That's what I got with my car. I only had one key anyway and wanted a spare, so got the new style key with the built in remote and kept the original key as a spare.
Shiston 20-04-04, 06:10 PM Would a key from say a 2003 model be able to be programmed to be used on a 1998 model?
I have the latest type of replacement key that I am using with my 1998 car...
Shiston 20-04-04, 09:06 PM Does it look like this:

And if programmed by the dealer can it be used instead of my older remote (1998) that looks like this:

The first picture is the new key I have and the second picture the key fob remote I got with the car. For some reason the original key fob had to be re-programmed the same time as the new key.
Hi all.
I only have a single key remote that I got when I bought the car.
Where can I get another so I have a spare, do I have to get this from a main dealer??
Cheers all.
A spare key from a dealer is about £25.00 and about another £25.00 to have it programmed to the car...
Tony McKenzie 18-06-04, 11:36 AM Hi, I've just called my local Saab dealer in Edinburgh to be quoted £115.06 (inc VAT) for a replacement and reprogrammed single unit key/remote.
Simon, where did you get the quote for £25.00 + £25.00 - I would be interested in talking to them...

Jesus! $70 for a... key? (plus whatever it costs to have it programmed)
I'm holding on to my two keys dearly, so I dont have to replace them... :P
