Congrats on that one!
Saabs always seem to be just waiting for someone to give 'em a bit more punch.
What is included in the Trent Saab Stage 1 tuning job? And how much power and torque does your car have now?

P.S ive yet 2 check the power n torque that'll come later in the month tho! To see if the claims are true.
You may find that you have to check the fuel pressure on the FSE over the next few miles until it beds in and stabilises.

Ruby? - post 92? - no cat? - no MOT!
I guess you could just put it back for the test!
Yes - my FSE needed 3-4 resets before it settled in -I also think the base setting of 3.2 bar is too much on the Lucas FI - mine works better at 3.0 bar.

Doesn't the Ruby have the upgraded APC already?

Well, there are different upgrades...
APC can be modified way above the level the factory upgrades give.
Many people run with APCs tuned to give 25 psi of boost or more.
Sounds like fun. Will the engine wear quicker running that amount of boost though?

It all comes down to what else has been done to the engine. If you take care about other necessery upgrades (fuelling, breathing, intercooling, turbo) it needen't be a time bomb. Many people have been succesful in tuning Saab engines and using them as daily drivers.
Of course, tuning an engine always causes more strain on its components, and in c900's case, more importantly, on the clutch and transmission.
On the other hand, it's much of a question of how the car's used as well. If you always run it hard, the engine will certainly wear sooner than it would with normal use.
That said, a standard car driven hard all the time might well wear more than a tuned one driven with more respect.
Do the job well, take care of the car, and a tuned 900T can be very reliable. The engine is tough, so even if one does take a bit off its original durability, a long life can still be expected.

I've seen how its driven! God help the gearbox. Perhaps Agey should be looking for a new box to rebuild ready for the inevitable.

What have you done wrt your insurance?Don't you have to tell them about these sorts of things or do you keep it to yourself? If you were to keep it to yourself what would happen if you were to crash the thing?
I only ask as I think if I were to have got a turbo I would want to modify it.Enjoy!
