Very nice, the car looks mean with the drop and the 19" BBS CH wheels :D.
Man, I want those Porsche brake calipers :D
I like the little carbon fiber lip touches too (not so hot on the spoiler but I guess it serves a purpose). Interesting to see they are running a 3" cat-back system too.
sjhudon 12-04-04, 05:41 PM Nice car! love the big brake kit.... ummm.. hate the spoiler though, i'd sacrafice the improvement to take that bloody thing off... 8)
M4Gunner 12-04-04, 06:06 PM BOOO to the rice spolier!! :nono; yaayyyy for the rest of the car!
joshd2012 12-04-04, 06:35 PM Very nice! I like the carbon fiber custom pieces a lot.
finklejag 12-04-04, 06:44 PM BOOO to the rice spolier!! :nono; yaayyyy for the rest of the car!
It serves a purpose, not like the smucks that drive around in their 90 Accord with one of those.
Nice pics, I love the looks of the 19's.

I'm not saying it doesn't serve a purpose but get it off my SS :cheesy:

thats what i mean. if your racing the car (which i assume they are) then sure, but if its just a show car, they could have done better. (spoiler)
I am not sure this is just a show car. This car is probably what got our PPC's to the market. Its a freakin test car!!! Which can be put in a show!! :cheesy:
I would have to see the wing in person to be sure, but from the photo I am fairly certain that it is set up as "neutral" => no force created either up or down. Most wings of this type will cost you a few mph at the top end, but if adjusted for neutral, will not affect the handling. This would not surprise me; I have had my Vector up to 118mph and the tail (along with the rest of the car) was solid as a rock.
It seems too tall to simply be a "von Karmann" foil (drag reduction device). But if it has any intentional effect at all, that is what I would bet on.
Most street wings on front wheel drive cars are adjusted by their clueless owners to create considerable downforce - at high speeds, this moves the center of pressure rearwards AWAY from the drive wheels. Not a good thing, for most front drivers. This is especially amusing on fwd cars on the drag strip!
On the street, this kind of stuff just screams "poseur".
alexdrops 25-06-08, 07:01 PM wow i want those carbon fiber lips..u cant get them anywhere can you now?
pure-pwnage 25-06-08, 07:13 PM These are very old pictures. I found these pictures 2-4 months ago just doing a random search on google.
the.hatter 25-06-08, 07:15 PM wow i want those carbon fiber lips..u cant get them anywhere can you now?
yea i think those are my favorite parts of this car :) . overall really nice package, imo looks awesome! thanks for the post moose.
i see they don't have the lock cap for the driver's door just like me :cheesy:
pure-pwnage 25-06-08, 07:23 PM i want the lip and rear package. they look good
the.hatter 25-06-08, 09:33 PM did a search and a company called apr performance (aprperformance.com) will apparently make you a custom front splitter if you trace your front bumper outline on a piece of cardboard and mail it to them. cost $340 + shipping or something BUT there might not be enough meat under the aero lip for fastening. think i read they need 3-4" of flat surface. sure there are others available from someone, too bad the saab is uncommon enough that there aren't premade ones readily available.
rcsummers 26-06-08, 01:56 AM i want that front splitter.....does BSR sell them?

http://www.thirdfloor.biz/temp/elmia/01.jpgUnfortunately BSR do not sell the Carbon Fibre front splitter, see the link in post #22 of Where can I get that spoiler? (http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81605&highlight=spoiler+bsr)
Steve.
Cosmicflash 26-06-08, 11:23 AM Wow...

hey he started it :cheesy: in my defense i hadn't seen this before and i didn't have a saab 4 years ago. guess the pictures distracted me enough that i didn't look at the date.
I've not seen better looking wheels on a 9-3SS than those BBS's....soo nice

so, how does the BSR Stage4 booth car look now?
have they learned from their mistakes (the wing)?
alexdrops 27-06-08, 10:53 AM oh really nowwwwwww????? i think my OZs Ultraleggeras are pretty swweetaaa :cheesy:

at the risk of sounding stupid...any ideas on how they mounted the porsche brakes? i doubt they are just bolt on so that means a custom bracket?? i'm sure plenty of people would buy a bracket if it meant adding the tons of aftermarket brakes available for porsche to our brake up-grade options.
mpnguyen1 13-07-08, 12:15 PM im lovin that. im new to the saab world. and im noticing that there is not much aftermarket support.
ssr professors SP1's would look DAMN HOT on that car
BOOO to the rice spolier!! :nono; yaayyyy for the rest of the car!
I second that!
SMHarman 14-07-08, 01:05 PM I am not sure this is just a show car. This car is probably what got our PPC's to the market. Its a freakin test car!!! Which can be put in a show!! :cheesy:It's a MY2003 - you can tell as it has the pop up headlamp washers, not the warts so you could well be right.
Kandiru 21-07-08, 03:49 PM The last i saw anything like that spoiler mount was on a Romanian train :)
Pity they did that in Ikea land.
