SAABCENTRAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF USE (12/09/2015)

SITE ADMINISTRATION / MODERATION AUTHORITY

1.) Moderation of SaabCentral is made possible by a volunteer team of Saab enthusiasts. Each forum has assigned moderation. Please reach out to the particular forum moderator if you need assistance or use the “report” feature. Note that more serious decisions and actions taken by forum moderators are often completed through group consideration and are not based on the single opinion or action of one moderator. These Terms & Conditions of Use are supplemental to those promulgated by Vertical Scope, here. Each member is responsible for consulting, becoming familiar with and complying with the VerticalScope Terms of Use in addition to those set forth here. In the event it is determined by us that there is a conflict between any of the VereticalScope Terms and any that we have drafted and permanently posted at the top of each forum page, such that it is impossible to comply with both the VerticalScope term or terms and one or more of the terms set forth here, the term or terms provided by VerticalScope shall control. Wherever it is possible to comply with VerticalScope and SaabCentral terms of use regarding the same subject matter, all such relevant terms from both sources shall control and compliance therewith is required.

2.) Moderators and administrators have final word in anything and everything.
If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the moderator who took the action, not to the general forums. Using the forum tools “Report Post” and “Report Image” is the best way to point administrators or moderators to any offending content. Reporting does not always equal visible action. The SaabCentral moderation team will review, discuss and take appropriate action in a time frame it deems appropriate. This applies to issues with the forum in general, as well as issues with other members. The appropriate actions that moderators may take include, but are not limited to, the levying of an infraction, the issuance of a private warning via PM, the editing or removal of posted content, the deletion of an entire thread or post, and the issuance of a temporary or permanent ban of the offending member.

MEMBER CONDUCT, FORUM ETIQUETTE & RULES REGARDING POSTING & CONTENT

3.) Each member is allowed one account.
Multiple user account registrations from one individual are not permitted. When discovered, moderators will delete, revoke or merge any or all of these accounts, without further notice. By registering an account with SaabCentral you are warranting that you have provided true, accurate, current, and complete information. Each member bears sole individual responsibility for maintaining and promptly updating account information to keep it true, accurate, current, and complete. If any member provides any information that is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account without notice and to refuse any and all current and future use of Saabcentral.com. If you create an account with Saabcentral.com, you may be asked to supply, among other personal information, your name, address, a User ID and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account and are fully responsible for all activities that occur in connection with your password or account. Use of the SaabCentral account constitutes your agreement to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of either your password or account or any other breach of security, that you will not permit others, including those whose accounts have been terminated, to access any of the Saabcentral.com forums using your account or User ID, and to be bound by these Forum Terms and Conditions of Use, as they may be amended from time to time.

4.) This is an automotive forum and should be kept as such. However, it is reasonable that members will discuss non-Saab activities and projects. Threads of this nature should be started in “The Lounge”. Discussions of certain sensitive and potentially contentious subjects (politics, religion, abortion, sexual orientation, gun ownership, etc.) often degenerate quickly and can lead some members into verbal attacks or the use of language they might not have otherwise used. Members participating in this behavior could receive warnings, infractions and temporary and/or permanent bans from the forums. Authoring or participating in a thread tending to incite this behavior is forbidden. Please report content of this type immediately.

5.) Name-calling, individual attacks, flaming, and trolling are behaviors that are neither helpful nor constructive and are expressly prohibited.
This is a global forum with a membership that includes people from many different countries and cultures. As well the membership roster includes folks of vastly differing ages. Disagreements and differences of opinion are inevitable. It is the expectation of the SaabCentral administration that our members will conduct themselves with decorum and civility. Rudeness is not acceptable. Tactful, respectful and diplomatic disagreements that remain constructive are helpful by furthering debate and discussion. A violation of this term and condition of use may result in immediate removal of the offending post(s), an infraction being levied, or both. Repeated violations may subject the offender to a temporary or permanent ban.

6.) Any potentially libelous material posted on SaabCentral will be removed as soon as it is noticed.
Comments that could be construed as being potentially libelous may lead to SaabCentral being held responsible in a court of law. Contrary to popular belief, disclaimers are legally ineffective.

7.) The use of bad language, racist or other offensive remarks is forbidden, as is posting swear or rude words in such a way to get around the SaabCentral bad language filter.

8.) 'Bumping' (otherwise known as posting simply to bring your thread back to the top) of topics is not allowed. Please allow some time for a reply to your posts.

9.) SaabCentral cannot condone the promotion of any illegal activities through these forums. This could include posts promoting or bragging about driving in excess of your local legal speed limits, street racing, piracy of copyrighted material, software, etc. Any such references are subject to immediate removal.

10.) Any posts or threads, particularly in the 'Lounge' forum, construed to be what we can only term as 'rubbish' or an attempt only to increase post counts will be deleted immediately without further notice. Continued abuse of these Terms & Conditions may result in the users posting rights being restricted or removed completely.

11.) Any gratuitous posts, basically only containing a link away from this site, will be removed immediately.

12.) Communications from moderators: From time to time a moderator may deem it advisable to deliver a non-public warning to a member via PM or e-mail. Failure of a member to heed such a warning and modify conduct so as to comply with the warning may subject the member to a temporary or permanent ban.

ADVERTISING & COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES

13.) Links to commercial websites are only allowed where they are in context with the relevant thread/post. Furthermore the link must be a 'Third-Party' recommendation only. Links to any other Saab websites are allowed when they are in context within the thread/post. The posting or use of images, graphics or avatars containing links to commercial websites, or any other type of advertisement, are expressly forbidden.

14.) There is strictly no free advertising, including commercial market research or commercial product support allowed anywhere, in any context, within these forums unless the member is an existing SaabCentral sponsor.

15.) Anyone considering a Group Buy or promoting a group purchase, from a site sponsor or not, must contact one of the site moderators or administrators for authorization.

16.) Classified “For Sale” advertisements may be begun by any qualifying member (one who already has 10 other posts in any of the sub-forums). Such ads are required to contain at a minimum the sellers name, location, at least one means of contact, an asking price, a complete and accurate description of the item being sold and pictures that fairly represent the current condition of the item. Outside links to photos will be accepted at this time but you are strongly encouraged to either insert an image URL via the "insert image" button or upload photos using the "manage attachments" button. Failure to follow this “For Sale” format and meet all criteria will be met with one warning followed by thread deletion within 48 hours if corrections are not made. Once an item has sold, please mark as sold so the thread may be locked or deleted by a moderator. Threads with three or more months of inactivity may be locked to prevent unneeded thread revivals. In order to prevent a single member from monopolizing the front page of any classified forum, each qualifying member is permitted to start no more than 3 new "For Sale" ads in any classified forum, per day.

17.) Classified “For Sale” advertisements regarding “part-outs” are subject to the picture inclusion requirement where practical and feasible. However, it is recognized that it is not necessarily easy nor possible to include clear photos of each and every part available from the part-out at the outset of creating the advertisement. Accordingly, such advertisements shall, at a minimum, contain at least two pictures of the car being parted out or collection of parts salvaged from that car to at least give a fair general impression of the condition of the car and/or parts as a whole. In replying to requests or inquiries regarding a particular part, if the part is available and the seller can obtain a clear picture of the part, a picture of that part meeting the criteria in paragraph 16 shall be included with the reply. No member shall offer for sale, or solicit offers to purchase, parts from a car that is not in the member's possession at the time the part-out thread is begun.

18.) Classified advertisement bumping: Notwithstanding the general prohibition against bumping set forth in paragraph 8, it has become a tacitly accepted practice to permit some limited bumping of advertisements that remain open but have dropped down due to the appearance of new ads. Such bumping in the classified forums will be allowed but is not permitted to occur more often than weekly. If a member is found to be bumping a for sale ad or ads more frequently, such ads will be locked or deleted. If the member persists, additional actions will be taken.

DISCLAIMERS/WAIVERS OF LIABILITY

19.) SaabCentral cannot and does not guarantee the accuracy or warranty of any type or form of any advice or information provided on this website, and SaabCentral makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability or advisability of performing any repair or making any modification described and posted in these forums.
Be careful of those claiming expertise or having certain credentials they may or may not have. Should you choose to follow any advice provided by a member of SaabCentral, it is entirely at your own risk. Saabcentral.com (Website and the Forums) may contain links to sites owned or operated by independent third parties. These links are provided for your convenience and reference only. SaabCentral does not control such sites and, therefore, cannot be responsible for any content posted on these sites. The fact that the administration of Saabcentral.com permits the operators, members and guests to offer such links should not be construed in any way as an endorsement, authorization, or sponsorship of any such site, its content or the companies or products referenced therein. If you decide to access any of the third party sites found on Saabcentral.com, you do this entirely at your own risk. Because some sites link you to sites containing information that may be deemed inappropriate or offensive, the SaabCentral owners, administrators and operators cannot be held responsible for the accuracy, copyright compliance, legality, or decency of material contained in third party sites, and you hereby irrevocably waive any claim against them with respect to such sites.

20.) SaabCentral will not be held responsible for ANY loss and/or damages incurred by either sellers or buyers as a result of their transactions.
Use common sense when purchasing goods online via the Classifieds. Please remember we are not here to arbitrate your transactions. Please make all efforts to resolve problems amongst yourselves. Thank you.
