Looks like Hirsh performance has shown its performance gains with the new upgrade stage 2 giving the Aero 252 hp. The bad part is its priced around 3,200 Euros :o

That sounds about right. A Stage II consist of ECU, air filter, and cat-back. BSR PPC is saying 247HP with Stage I, so an additional 5HP with a cat-back system sounds about right, if not a little conservative. But that price, yipes! You can get a PPC, BSR cat-back and air filter for much, much less and have the same performance.

This does show you that not only that others can gain the same amount of performance via ECU upgrade, but that the engine will handle it without issue.

The Hirsch modification includes upgraded ECM, Intercooler and sstainless steel exhaust system from catalyst on.

Oh. I guess they have pretty much the same software for stage 1? but just the intercooler adds the difference?

Question....

Aero+ppc+cat back+filter+ic=????hp
The whole package does not cost more tha 3000 euros..fitted on the car....

A good intercooler costs approx 1500 euro, and a stainless steel cat back (e.g. ferrita) 1000 euro.

Hmm... they should be getting more than just 5HP with an upgraded intercooler and cat-back. What are the specs for just Stage I?

To answer that question, i would say approximately 265 HP's. I think that the max HP to be given by the filter is 2 and the catback provides about 5 to 6, not more. The intercooler i THINK will not give you more than 9 or 10. The PPC gives 37 solid hp's. Add the numbers and it should give you about 265 HP's

They do get more than 5HP. Hirsch stage 1 gives 230HP/350Nm, and stage 2 252HP/370Nm.
Remember to be careful when you compare the performance data from different tuners. There are lots of different ways to measure performance.

My 9-5 was quoted as 150Bhp to 217Bhp with the BSR ECU upgrade. It actually dyno'd at 219Bhp. So you may get more than BSR have quoted.

Even though I don't think that a cat-back on a turbo engine, gives only 5hp,I will have the exact numbers after the dyno.
I've seen cars gaining 10-15 hp only from the exhaust...I can't undertand why our engine will gain only 5...

Another question...
What is the diameter of the dp used in our cars?Is it 2.25" as the rest of the exhaust?
I don't think that there are bigger dp's avialable for us...but,does anybody knows if there are going to be any?Can we change it,or there will be problems???(catalyst,t8,lamda sensor etc??)

If you change the downpipe without informing the ECU, you most probably will have problems, especially upon installing the cat back. Thats my opinion!!! The size of the dp on our cars is about 2.25 to 2.5 i think

Had I known that the Stage I was only 230HP, I wouldn't have said there was only a 5HP gain. Do not be so quick to judge ones path of deduction; it is a dangerous habit.

Then I do apologize. I was merely trying to give a friendly advice.
