Pretty sure I am going to buy a 9-5 premium just wondering what experience y'all have had with these systems. Not a deal breaker but getting excited about all of the features.
I know the sign recognition is not enabled in the US but maybe it can be dealer enabled?
If you have nav, the highway speed limits load to your speed limit sign in the configurable central pod where the altimeter style speedo is an option.
Lane departure is more a gimmick than useful. Makes you aware of how much you may drift when driving. Love the front park assist sensors. I have the tech package- and in fact got a 9-5 because of wanting HUD. HUD is my favorite tech item in the car.
I'm surprised how much I love driving this large car after 7 years of a 9-3 vert and 3series coupe before that
Very cool, yeah looking forward to playing around with the HUD just need get this dealer to budge and I'll be set. Currently looking at an '11 Turbo4 Premium with 7,500miles.
I found TSR to work much better on a drive to the midwest where I think the signs may have been larger compared to my local area. Also displayed yellow curve warning signs adjacent to the speed limit occasionally. Lane departure works very well. Signalling in advance of course will cancel it, and you can switch it off if desired.
I did read that about the LDW, another feature of the front and rear parking sensors is a "following" alarm, in other countries the car warns the driver of a tailgater. Would be nice to know if we could enable these things further down the road/years.
P.S. The Wife and I just got back from picking up the car and we friggin' loved the LDW especially for nighttime driving. Even had a chance to use the Auto-Highbeam feature but thats for another thread.
