Hey that's pretty cool, will it actually work? and what is the cost?

It wouldn't work because of the air flow sensor in the air box.

err, wont the ribs in the tube cause turbulents in the airflow, which will actually be worse?

I don't know. This is the second kit to use tubing like that. People say it should be a smooth pipe, but many companies have intakes like this. :-?

I think the tube on such a setup is useless.

the tube connects to just the end of the filter with is such a small surface area. look at the amount of surface area that is around the filter, it will end up sucking in engine bay air long before it pulls in air through the tube, if any at all.

If anyone wants to know what it takes to truely improve on a factory intake (which is a cold air intake in our SAABs, just as it is), look at K&N's tuned filter products (FIPK Syatems). They only make them for a few vehicles, and they are NOT simple to engineer and get real improvements.

Note that these types of systems are usually NOT as good at ducting cold air as the stock system under all conditions. The heat shield systems are often not as good as a thick walled sealed airbox drawing outside air through a snorkel (typical high performance oem setup).

caveat emptor! Only the dyno will tell the tale.
