My 2010 9-5 aero has a leak that only occurs after a hard or lengthy rain. The passenger floorboard will be soaked. Any ideas on fixes are appreciated.
I, and some other folks, have had this issue in the past. There's a thread for it on these forums actually.
I took it to the dealership that did a bit of research and basically said that it's due to the design of the the air-intake for the air-conditioning. Something to do with the way the filter sits. Apparently there is a Saab-approved fix for it that requires some sort of a minute part. What this part or fix is, I do not know; details and parts are hard to come by in the post-bankruptcy world of Saab.
I have, however, found that if you leave your climate control on "Auto" at all times (when it is raining out), the water leak does not occur. It is only when I manually set my climate control to different settings for vents/etc that I have noticed the water from the rain making it's way to the floorboard on the passenger side.
Another place to look for leaks into passenger floor well on a 93. The fresh air intake caulk or sealant had literally became a gob of goo and was leaking behind it into the fresh air duct. I removed the white filter holder with the two clips and cleaned both surfaces well. My local parts store had a roll of polybutylene ribbon sealer that worked quite nice and created a perfect seal. Mission accomplished!
