As I understand it, a 1992 Carlsson or 1993 Ruby has 185BHP whereas my 1993 T16S only has 175BHP
Anyone know how they got the extra 10BHP, and so how I can ?

Carlssons and Ruby's have what's known as a 'Red Box' APC fitted to them. Red box because that is the colour of the box. But it is very simple to modify your own black APC box to similar or higher outputs. Do a search on the forums or check out Widde's excellent site 900aero.com for a 'How to'.
Your car may only have 165bhp due to the power loss associated with having a CAT fitted. Not sure if Saab reconfigured standard APC's to bring them back up to 175bhp.

thats the reason the Ruby is classed as being the most powerful C900 185 bhp but with cat :cheesy: :cheesy:

Chris, .... The main power difference between T16/Carly/Ruby if they have a cat or not is how the APC is set.
If you have a t16 with a cat you have a choice of APC mod.
Carly power/Ruby power/more .... the choice is yours.
APC mods consist of replacing simple resistors in the APC and turning two screws with a screw driver to your power taste.
Going above 200bhp you will have to consider additional fueling and cooling.
You could start by simply replacing the black box with a red box (aka Ruby) but if you want more power you may as well just mod the black box anyway.

My LPT was recently dynoed at 183 BHP, probably a bit more on the road. Mods are MBC, Intercooler and no cat.

Nuts hinted on another post that there may be uprated injectors and cams on the Carlsson.
I have not driven both so I couldn't compare. Feels a bit faster than the 8v 900i I used to drive. :o

I am almost certain that injectors and cams on the Carlsson are the same as any other Lucas equipped T16.

I did a search on www.stcs.nu to help out Nuts yeasterday, the conclusion was that the most aggressive cams you can get, are the ones on the 86-88-turbo models (Same on both 9000 and 900)... Can dig out the info for all the cams for the T16-engine if anyone needs them...
