Anyways. My question tonight is regarding my 01' 9-3 SE 2.0t HOT.
My current mods are:
Drop in K&N panel filter(stock air box/hose)
Rear muffler delete(2.5" strait pipe)

I was thinking next of doing a catless downpipe. My questions are...
Do I need a tune afterwards or some sort of "staged" ECU??
Will I have a check engine light? If so will the car go in limp mode??

I guess I just need to know if there is anything I HAVE to do when I install the downpipe or before I do..

I'd consider getting a tune first that would benefit from a downpipe.
But not so much of a tune that a 3" downpipe would be required.

On a T7 you will get a CEL. I don't think it will go into limp mode but it might not run correctly since I believe the T7 2nd O2 sensor adjusts fuel/air as well. (Unlike T5)

It says can be used on stock ECU. Could I put that on and notice any power gains?? Then get a stage2 Ecu (or stg3)

You will notice it when u put the downpipe on with the stock ecu. But to take full advantage of your new mod, a tune should also be in your future. I can help with that if u need.

So for my T7 could I buy a "catted" race downpipe like the one about and be able to "plug and play"

No limp mode?
No worries of running bad?

I would be confident in saying my car is in tip top mechanical condition.
