I'm not digging the ride on my 9-5. I enjoy the sportiness, but it's harsh around town (all roads are poor), and gets a little scary when you're pushing it. Can I just swap the shocks and struts for better ones? Or, is there more to it?
Also, how hard would it be to a swap my steering wheel with the nicer, thicker Aero wheel, provided I can find one of course?
Toxicavenger is probably right, you can get a custom made steering wheel from GS for the 9-3 so I'm sure they could fab up something for the 9-5 if you are willing to spend enough
The NG 9-5 shares a lot of parts with the Buick LaCrosse and maybe some with the Buick Regal, but I would be surprised to find enthusiast parts for either of these. It also shares a lot of parts with the Opel Insignia and this may be the hot button.
You may be able to locate enthusiast suspension parts for the Insignia at European sources, and Hirsch Performance might even sell some things specifically for the NG 9-5.
Well Hirsch at one point did make a "performance enhanced" 2010+ SAAB 9-5.
However, they only made 5 of these packages for 5 SAAB 9-5s and yep, you guessed it, they're all sold out. Before I go on, though, let me just say that these 5 9-5s looked like pure sex. Here's the link:
I believe (could be wrong) the suspension Hirsch used in their performance 9-5 was actually used in another SAAB (I think maybe the 2.8T 9-3) so perhaps you can use that both there and in the new 9-5. My advice, email Hirsch, see whats up.
